They had driven first to Cleveland, Ohio, to meet their son, Francis, who then drove them to Miami Beach. While in Miami Beach they made their headquarters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sutton parents 6f Kerns' daughter-in-law, Mary Joyce. Mary Joyce and granddaughter, Noreen, were also at tlje Sutton home. Besides touring Ft. Lauderdale and other Florida sites the Kerns visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ross, former residents of Sunny side Beach, now living in Pompano Beach. Upon their return home they were pleas®! antly surprised to find that son, Jerry, had the whole house interior decorated while they were away. Musical Festival Jeanniejo Benoche and Janice Bush participated in the annual spring music festival held on Thursday, May 9, at Mc- Henry high school. Jeanniejo is a member of both the chorus and select chorus and Janice plays the flute in the band. Janice, Senior, and president of the band this year, was given a 4 year gold pin. Parents of both girls attended the festival. Terrace Tidings Bob and Irma Jorgenson accompanied five other couples from their weekly dancing class for an evening out at Gurnee on Saturday. Loretta and Don Kern were treated with dinner in celebration of their wedding anniversary on Monday evening at the William Kern home. Mr. and Mrs. J. Hayes and family, Chicago, stopped at the Anthony Kurowski home on Sunday to extend their birthday wishes to Anthony, Sr. Harry Gavin and friend spent the weekend fishing on Wolf River in Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Secord, Kenosha, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Foxes and three girls, and Mrs. Effie Secord, Milwaukee, gathered at the Howard Secord home on Sunday for dinner in honor of Mother's Day. Marion and Bob Rabb spent Mother's Day with son, Jack Adair, and family at the home of Mrs. Adair's parents, Rudy and Edith Schuck, Elmwood Park. Families at the Rachuj home on Sunday included Tom Brya and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brya. Irene Seliga spent part of the day at her mother's also. You drivers, teenagers and adults who think you've got to tear like crazy on the side roads must have lost all your common sense. A 3,000 pound car is not a toy to play with. Speeding and pealing might sound fun to some immature people, but it's not. After you have crippled or killed someone it's too late to slow down. How would you feel if one of your family was hit by a speeding car. So if you don't want yourself in a lot of trouble SLOW DOWN and travel the roads at a safe speed. If others can do it so can you. B. B. Guns Parents please warn your children how dangerous a B.B. gun or any other firearms can be B.B. guns can put a persons eye out, and other firearms are still more dangerous. Person or persons have been shooting B.B. guns off in the village limits. No firearms or B.B. guns are to be discharged irt the village limits, or in any residential district. If you are caught you will be paying a fine. Bette think twice before you hurt or kill someone, then it's too late. Dogs There are several dogs running loose in both subdivisions and are dumping garbage cans over and ruining a lot of gardens. They are also chasing after children and adults. Someone is going to get bitten, and it is not a pleasant thing to get bitten. And for the owner of the dog it can be an expensive thing. There is an ordinance that says your dog must be chained up or fenced in not running loose. And when walking a dog he must be on a leash, there has been several complaints about the dogs in Lakemoor just running wild. The police will enforce this ordinance. It is a lot safer and cheaper to fence or chain up your dog so why not do it? down with the chicken pox on Saturday.
