DIANE WISER EXCHANGES VOWS AT ST. PETER'S St. Peter's Catholic chijrch in Volo was the scene of a lovely spring wedding on Saturday, May 18, when Miss Diane M. Wiser became the bride of Mr. Gerald R. Wagner. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Wiser of Rt. 1, Round Lake, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wagner of 712 E. Rt. 120, McHenrJP. Rev. Edwin Slingeiiand officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial high Mass. Soloist for the ceremony was Mrs. Donald Wegener of Somanauk. HI., accompanied by Mr:,. Josephine Wagner, Mrs. Wegener's offerings were "Ave Maria" and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother." Bouquets of yellow carnations and white glads decorated the altar. Miss Wiser made a charming bride as she approached the altar wearing a gown fashioned of white delustered satin, detailed with fitted bodice, scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. An applique of alencon lace, scattered with seed pearls, highlighted the waistline, the sottly pleated skirt cascading into a full, chapel length train. Her crown, made of the same type lace and seed pearls, held a four-tiered, bouffant, elbow length petal veil made by her mother. She carried a cascade bouquet of ivy, White carnations and lilies of the valley, surrounding a white, detachable orchid. Miss Frances Wiser of Round Lake, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor, and Miss Kay Wiser and Miss Linda Wiser, of Round Lake, sisters of the bride, and Miss Marilyn Wagner of McHenry, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaids. The junior bridesmaid was Joanne Wiser of Round Lake, another sister of the bride. The attendants were similarly attired in copen blue dresses fashioned of silk organza over taffeta, with fitted, princess bodices, scoop necklines, three quarter length sleeves, detachable over-skirts featuring tucked-under, shepherdess backs. Their headpieces were of the same shade, tiar& style, with seed pearls and .pylon braid. All carried baskets of white daisy mums and yellow carnations, with leatherleaf greens. Kenneth Wagner of McHenry served his brother as best man, and groomsmen were Robert Wagner of McHenry, cousin of the groom, Thomas Wiser of Round Lake, cousin of the bride, and Ferd Wolter of Libertyville, brother-in-law, of the groom. Mrs. Wiser was attired in a pink silk sheath with pink and white accessories and green cymbidium orchid. Mrs. Wagner wore a blue silk, pleated skirt over taffeta, with white bodice of lace over blue taffeta. She had blue and white accessories and a yellow cymbidium orchid. Following the ceremony, thirty guests enjoyed a wedding breakfast at the Legion home in McHenry, where 250 friends and relatives gathered for a reception later in the day. The couple are enjoying a honeymoon trip to Springfield, 111., and will reside in Libertyville on ftjgir return. The Bride attended St. Peter's school in Volo and graduated in 1960 from Wauconda high school. The groom is a 1958 graduate of the same school. The new Mrs. Wagner has been employed in Niles, and the groom works for the soft water department of Ihe village of Libertyville. A very fine fried chicken luncheon was served by the auxiliary. New officers for the 1963- 64 season were installed by Mrs. Fred Svoboda: President, Mrs. Raymond Spohr, first vice-president, Mrs. Hugh Locker; second vice-president, Mrs. Albin Olson; secretary, Mrs. Richard Anderson; treasurer, Mrs. Fred Pepping; directors, Mrs. Robert Thompson, Mrs. Daniel Knapp and Mrs. Clyde Bailey. Roy Kane and Connee, with their "Sweethearts of Song" program, delighted everyone with well known selections from popular musical comedies. When they sang "An Orchid lor a Lady," a beautiful song beautifully performed, they presented Mrs. Helen Dobyns with a large purple orchid, a fitting tribute to a wonderful program chairman and a lovely way to say "thank you" from all of the club membership. A gift was presented to Mrs. Bailey by the newly elected president, Mrs. Spohr, in appreciation of her two years of efficient, dedicated efforts to keep the Club a fine civic organization. These efforts resulted in contributions by the club of $100 to the Teacher's Scholarship fund; $35 for Katie E. Stamper, a high school music student, to attend Egyptian Music camp; $50 to McHenry County Mental Health; $190 to McHenry Library; $13.50 to Indian Affairs; $15 to Veterans' Service, $10 each to Girl Scouts, Park Ridge School for Girls and Lincoln Lodge. ANNUAL PROM NIGHT LEAVES 5 FOND MEMORIES A night of fond memories will linger long with the members of the junior and senior classes at McHenry high school following the annual pljom, "Wonderland by Night." Faculty sponsors were Mrs. Karen Thompson of Fox Lake and Richard Swantz of McHenry. The class and the committee chairmen started work to transform the gym into a pjace of beauty on May 8. By the afternoon of the eighteenth, the finishing touches were put in place. The ceiling took on the appearance of a night sky, and other highlights were a brick wall around the floor, and a skyline view painted above it. Decorations included a wishing well in the center, many decorated tables and a fountain in front of the stage. Blinking twinkle lights completed the romantic atmosphere and provided a fine setting for the young folks to display their formal attire. J. Saynor, Sr., that enough revenue will be obtained so that an additional nurse scholarship can be awarded to a deserving resident of McHenry county, in addition to the scholarships already pledged for this year. Voiture 578 of McHenry county was recently commended as having the greatest nurse scholarship program in the state organization of the 40 and 8, this being done with the smallest membership. To date, the scholarship score is twenty-one graduate nurses, four in training and two to graduate this year. At this moment it is too early to report on the number of nurses that will be sponsored this year by the Voiture. The outcome of the dance Saturday night will have a bearing.
