St. John's News Items Father John Dording arrived at St. John's June 13 and Sunday, June 16, a big reception was held at the Johnsburg community center. Kay Sielisch served as the receptionist for the Highlands. It gave all the parisioners a wonderful chance to meet Father Dording and to welcome him to our parish. June 23 after the 12, o'clock Mass Father Dording will be offically installed as pastor of St. John's, in a short but very impressive ceremony. Father Weideman hopes many will be at the ceremony. It may be the only time for many of us to ever witness such a cere mony. I for one have never been lucky enough to see one and I am looking forward to it very much. The Blessed Virgin Sodality will hold a bake sale July 7, after all Masses at the school hall. All women members of the parish are asked to bring baked goods to this sale. The annual summer pot-luck dinner will be held July 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the community center. All members are asked to bring a dish to pass and since this will be the last meeting until September it is hoped all the members will be on hand. Everyone was real busy Sunday cleaning up the debris, including my hubby who was busy replacing shingles and fixing the gutters. I was busy picking up branches and the likes.
