( Thursday, June 20, 1963 THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Page Three Marlene Freund Becomes Bride Miss Marlene Freund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton M. Freund of 2115 W. Johnsburg road, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Walter Berg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Berg of 1619 W. Joyce avenue, McHenry, in a lovely nuptial rite solemnized in St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg, on Saturday, June 15. Rev. Fr. Raymond Hettermann, uncle of the bride, officiated at the 11 o'clock service. The children's choir sang for the wedding in a church decorated with bouquets of white gladioli and blue tinted carnations. For her wedding, Miss Freund was charming, in a gown of shimmering satapeau, with modified sheath style and detachable train. She had a pearl encrusted, imported lace motif, with self trim rosettes for back interest on the cummerbund, and pearl embroidery on lace at the neckline. With it she wore a seed pearl crown. Miss Freund was given in marriage by her father. Attending the bride were Pat Frisby, Elaine Miller and Sandi Smith of McHenry, Bobbie Whitney of Fox Lake, Mary Ann McAllister of Chicago and Kay Hettermann of College Park, Ga. They were attired similary in gowns of fine sheer blue fabric with three-quarter length sleeves, street length, with long overskirts worn for the ceremony. Their small blue crowns were enhanced with teardrop pearls. Cindy Miller and Debbie Freund were the small flower girls. Both wore white, floor length dresses of organdy and white crown headpieces. Roy Diedrich of McHenry Served as best man and groomsmen were Bob Yonkus of Chicago, Ted Freund, Ken Froehlig and Gary Rosentreter of McHenry and Mark Hettermann of Arlington, Va. The bride's mother chose a blue embroidered organza over taffeta sheath with matching shoes and hat. Mrs. Berg selected a salmon colored sheath of silk organza, with matching accessories. A breakfast followed the ceremony at 1 o'clock at the Johnsburg Community club for fifty guests, and after 5:30 in the evening, 350 frietads and relatives gathered there for a reception. Joan Freund, a cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. After a honeymoon trip into northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will make their home at 4824 W. Hutchinson, Chicago.
