The place for the camporee has not been selected as yet. Deepest Sympathy Our deepest sympathy to Helen and Larry Strandquist on the death of his brother, Emil. Little League Reminder Please, parents be sure your little leaguers are at the Community house this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. sharp. They are to be in ftftelfr uniform, have a jacket or sweater, lunch and spending money. The bus is leaving promptly at 9:30 for Sox park. Also remember about the game for August. Please notify your son's team manager if your son is going to attend -this August game, if there aren't enough planning on going the bus will not be rented. Hope all you Little Leaguers, managers and coaches have a wonderful day on this Saturday. Parents We've had many requests to seek your help and this seems the best way of trying to do so. Can't you say a few words to your children about showing respect to property and older people. Our beaches are used by everyone and a great many bring lunches. There are rubbish cans on the beaches, won't you tell your youngsters to use them? Our Little League field has taken many long hard hours of work and many dollars to fix it up, it too is being abused. Teen-agers have pulled up equipment and thrown things away adding extra cost to the league. When told by adults these same youngsters used very abusive language. We feel these things are uncalled for, won't you help out by giving your youngsters a talk about respect -- it would be appreciated. Boy Scout News Meetings are now starting after the Little and Pony League games, come right from the games, Scout uniforms are not necessary now. The leaders of the troop received their bulletin on coming events this past week and were notified Strolling Through The Park July 4 saw the V.F.W. grounds having many of our residents having a wonderful picnic. The following families not only enjoyed a ball game, good food but also one anothers company, Bockmans, Jarmans, Joneses, Worms, Dawsons, Koehls and Belohlavys. Kenny Becker left Sunday for a three week's vacation to Backus, Minn. His great uncle, Rev. Nickolas Norman, enjoys Ken's company A great deal, this is Ken's third year of being his uncle's guest. Have a great time, Kenny. The Gladmans and Funks had a terrific card game and pizza party the other evening. Ron Funk's parents visited over the weekend. Emily and John Palczewski visited with Rosemary and Mitch Przetacznik on Sunday and attended Tommy's Pony League game. They all got to do a lot of cheering as the game lasted 12 innings. Nedra, Les and Billy Eckhart had a house full of guests during our long holiday, Nedra's brother, Wayne Chamblin, and his family, Nedra's mother, her sister and husband, the Daltons and her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Martin, all enjoyed Nedra's tasty meals. To prove the so called weaker sex really isn't, Sharon Wagner and her house guest, Lynnda Stuart, roughed it by sleeping out in tents. Think the whole subdivision owes a huge pat on the back to the men who have given time to paint our community house. Among the men we saw were John Flannigan, A1 Kujak, John Licastro, Irv Kreutz, Irv Becker, Ron Meurer and Joe Prazak. David Wagner not only spent two weeks visiting his grandma Wagner in Villa Park but was also given an electric guitar by grandma. Learn to play it well, David, we love good music. Faye Wilkinson is spending part of her vacation visiting with her sister, Polly Licastro. Helen, Gene and Mike Kraskiewicz spent the past week, 400 miles up in Chetek, Wis. There's a Boy Scout camp that Gene went to year's ago and he enjoyed re-visiting his old haunts. Camp Jftiillips will never pe the sSrrie, we're sure after Gene's visit. Going with the Kraskiewiczes were Belly and John Cushing. We're sure they had quite a time. Sharon Wagner and Pete Noele attended a party in Ringwood the day of our big storm and were having a wonderful time playing bandminten, tennis and baseball while we were being deluged by rain and hail. Sharon's mother, Jerry, sure wished she'd been in Ringwood because she helped get Little Leaguers home from the field and was practically drowned. Sharon says they had a terrific time. The Jack Oakfords spent a real busy long holiday by visiting on the fourth with Petey's girl friend and her husband, Rosemary and Bud Haase, in Rolling Meadows. On Saturday, Duke Grondy's future brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bud McMahon, had all of Duke's relatives over to meet before the coming wedding. Duke is Petey's brother. Sunday had Petey and Jack acting as hosts to Mr. and Mrs. Leon LaPlace and family for the day. The Jack Lavins received a phone call from their Marine son, L/Cpl. Jack, in Okinawa at 1:45 a.m. He thrilled his parents no end by his call even if they were awakened. There's nothing like a phone call to make parents feel a little closer to their sons. Our marine son, Pfc. David Druml, spent July 8 and 9 in Hawaii. He'll also have a lay over in Japan, and Korea before he reaches his destination. Jack Lavin told his son on the phone last week and young Jack hopes to meet my son. Lorraine and Fred Pike and children just returned from a fishing trip to Big Lake Mc- Kenzie, Wis. The Northerns weren't biting too well but they did catch a few. The men also reported spotting a turtle with a head as big as a human's and that's a lot of turtle. The Gilbertsens, Chester and June, and children, Patricia, Edward and Richard, have just recently returned from a vacation trip to Florida, where they visited June's father, Theodore Carwin, who lives in St. Petersburg. Grandpa Carwin was real happy to see them and really enjoyed the children. They visited all the interesting places in St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and nearby points. The trip w«Js~v^r^ interesting and enjoyable and as they made the trip by car they were able to make many stops enroute to visit interesting spots and really enjoy all of the beautiful scenery. Among Lyda and Bill Radisch's guests this past week were Rose Rossa of Racine, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bell of Norridge, 111. Edna and Tom Hountras's guest for a few days the last week of June was Tom's brother, Reverend Hountras, who was visiting from Pittsburg. A delicious steak fry was enjoyed at the Meurers' house last Saturday with the Matthews, the Johnsons, the Georges and the Koches indulging in their favorite pastime of eating. . Nancy Matthews spent several days at her aunt's house in Niles last week. Shirley Meurer is spending a few days at grandma Meurer's house in Maywood this week. The .Campos had a busy week last week with Grace's sistgr, Babe, and her husband, Chuck, spending Wednesday out here and then again Sunday to help Chuckie celebrate his birthday. On the fourth, the Morgenson family and the Schwetz family were over to help celebrate the holiday with a barbecue supper. Kathy Campo and Rhonda Schwetz enjoyed a trip to the Brookfield zoo last Monday while Chuckie spent the day celebrating his birthday with gam£s and refreshments for the boys in'the neighborhood. • The Kroenings are home again after a week's vacation at their cottage in Fish Lake, Ind. They also have a new addition to their family. A toy Fox Terrier who answers to the name of Duke. Edna and Tom Hountras celebrated the fourth of July with visitors from Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. V. Collett, and Mrs. Ruth Pieper, and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Crane, Mr. and Mrs. A. Piasecki, Mr. and Mrs. E. Mandziara, Mr. and Mrs. O. McMann, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hafer, Mrs. D. Julian, and Mrs. A. Herzog. There was card playing, l shuffle board and lots of eating. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Haerle entertained company from Franklin Park and South Milwaukee over the fourth of July. They barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs. A good time was had by all. The couples were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Budzvnski. Irom South Milwaukee and and Mrs. Leonard Budzynski, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Krumpen, and Ella Krumpen all from Franklin Park. Little League Our little league games have been just terrific since our last paper. The two-way tie for first place was finally broken on Sunday. Standings are first place Tigers, 5 wins, Orioles, 4 wins and 1 loss for second place, third place has Pirates with 3 wins and 2 losses, the Sox»are in 4th place with 2 wins and 3 losses, the Braves are fifth with 1 win and 4 losses and the Cubs are holding up the other teams in 6th place with 5 losses.
