Please parents if you value your youngsters eyesight, take the warnings given and prepare for viewing it with the simple, inexpensive device constructed with a cardboard box and a few other things that are found in most households. There were diagrams in the papers showing how to make this viewer. If you don't have the viewer, DO NOT watch the eclipse at all. Your eyes are far more important !. Oklahoma Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pearson are very happy to have their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pearson, visiting with them for this week. The vacationing Jack and Bernice reside in Norman, Okla. Ringwood welcomes them and hope they all have a wonderful time visiting with their folks and the many friends they have. M.Y.Fera With a clatter of tin cans, the Kanadian Klunker and Rev. Brenneman's car, ten anxious canoers have left town. On July 15, they startsd their journey to Ely, Minn. From there they will canoe their way to Canada, returning back to Ringwood on Thursday, July 25, at approximately 9 or 10 p.m. We will have to wait until then to find! out how this trip turned out. I'm sure all ck Ringwood wishes them the best of luck and hopes they enjoy themselves. There should be some good times to talk, about on their return. Last week they beat Pell Lake and Bassett. Wednesday the boys tangled with the Linton Jets and on Friday night it's Spring Grove versus Ringwood in the second game which will start at approximately 9 p.m. This should be a good game for all to see. Why not try to make a game or two? On July 24, Genoa City and Ringwood are scheduled for the first game (7:30). All games are played at the park in Genoa City, Wis. Little League News The Pirates and the Yankees were victorious in the two games played this past week. On Monday the Pirates beat the Sox by a score of 9 to 5. The Yankees beat the Pirates on Thursday night with a score of 10 to 5. Tonight (Monday) will find the Sox against the Yankees. The coming games for the week go as follows: July 18, it's the Sox versus the Pirates, on Monday, July 22, it will be the Yankees against the Pirates. All games are played at the Little League diamond at the McCullom Lake beach, with game time 6:30 p.m. Spectators are more than welcome. Popes Attend Weddfilg Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pope, Judy, Tommy and Debra Petska along with Mr, and Mrs. Darrell Pope and six children of Pana, 111., attended the wedding of Miss Sheril Elaine Holden of Sayre, Penn., to Kenneth Pope in the Missionary Alliance Church in Waverly, New York. The newly married Kenneth Popes honeymooned thru eight different states which included Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio and Michigan, where they are now residing, their address is 215 Indiana Northwest, Grand Rapids Mich. The Senior Popes drove into Canada from New York fot a visit at Niagara Falls and returned home through Michigan, arriving home on the first of July. The next day they motored to the southern part of the state for €t visit with their grandparents and other relatives. Coming up on the weekend of August 2, 3 and 4, St. John's church will sponsor its annual summer festival on the community club grounds. As in the past, this weekend will offer enjoyment for all. A fish fry will be served on Friday evening beginning at 5:30. The ever popular family style roast beef dinner will take place on Sunday. Serving will start at 11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available at all times on the grounds during these three days. Various activities have been arranged for to keep all age groups content. Be sure to keep that first weekend in August free to join in on St. John's parish summer festival. One little note to remember a successful project entails work. Sliver Anniversary John and Clara Klapperich celebrated twenty-five years of wedded bliss last Saturday with a reception held at the K. of C. hall in McHenry. The family and a host of friends were served a delicious supper, with a beautiful cake decorated with silver leaves as the centerpiece for the table. Mrs. Ruby Shepard was a weekend guest in the home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Ainger at Hebron. While there they celebrated Mary Ainger's sweet sixteenth birthday. Jack Leonard Long Time Resident Passes On An apparent heart attack contributed to the death of Richard Guyser of Oeffling Drive last week. Requiem Mass was said at St. John's church on Saturday with burial in the church cemetery. Friday evening Bill put his hand through a basement window Rescue Squad & Fire Calls Last week the Johnsburg rescue squad members were called out on a highway accident which claimed the life of an elderly man. A tow truck was called to the scene on Chapel Hill road to extract the victim from his truck. The firemen of station 2 were called out in the early hours of Saturday morning to extinguish a grass fire on Spring Grove road.
