She was buried from St. Giles church in Oak Park, July 2fl, with interment in Queen of Heaven cemetery. She leaves her husband, John, who is not too well. He suffered a stroke recently that left him unable to do all the things he loves doing. The McGarrys have lived in the Highlands for seven years and have a very beautiful home. All of their neighbors Will miss Catherine. Two Rondlps In Bias The stork^has boon a pretty busy fellow in the Highlands, and he left two bundles in blue. The first l>oy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Erie Drochner Jr. at the McHenry hospital, July 23, and weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 ozs. He has been named Kevin Eric. The senior DroehneY*s are really thrilled over their grandson. The Junior Drochners have a daughter, Cheryl, who is 22 months old. The second son was ifeft to Dick and Joan Zilligen. The baby boy arrived at the McHenry hospital Sunday, July 28, weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 ozs. Glenn is happiest of all. now he is no longer dut numbered. The Zilligen children had stayed in Forest Park with tlleir grandparents and dad. It Wis Bound To Happen Sooner Or Later .'Dogs being allowed to ran mining yards, etc., has long been a big bone of contention iii the Highlands and finally some one has done something about it. July 30 Evelyn Falk has filed suit to collect damages for destruction of property. Maybe If folks got together and backed up a few suits this practice of allowing dogs to run would be stopped. I get more calls complaining about dogs than I get news items and for all the yodeling that Is done they are still allowed to run free. People who really keep their dogs In their own yard are bothered with others who are allowed to run. Some even have been attacked in their own yard while being chained there. Dogs are not to blame, it Is the fault of the owners. Mary and she Is a very warm, friendly gal. They do so want to become active members of the community and are eager to join in with things. They are members of St. John's parish. They are all settled in their home, and James' brother and a nephew are making their home with them for the summer at least. I am sure James and Mary will be a great asset to the Highlands, and we want to welcome you both. Forty-Ninth Anniversary August 19, I^eo and Iil OrloWski will be celebrating their forty-ninth wedding anniversary. They plan on a very quite day but I hope every one will flood them with cards. I for one wish them a very s|>ecial day since I love them both very much and call them my second parents. They have always been so wonderful to me and always on hand to help. My special wish to both of you is good health so you may celebrate your golden anniversary next year. May God grant you both the very best of His Blessings. All your friends join me in this wish. Leo and Lil reside at 306 West Broadway and love living in the Highlands and have made a host of friends here. eating on the patio. The rain did not dampen our spirits one bit, we loved it. July 27 Mr. and Mrs. C. Jones of 5614 North Meadow Hill Lane, moved back to Chicago and are renting their home. They had lived here five years and are looking forward to retirement so they can live here permanently. They only have a few years to go and they will be back. July 29 found Milt and Betty Sandolin moving to their home in Mount Prospect. All of their neighl>ors were sad to see the moving van at their door. Many of us had tears in our eyes. Betty and Milt were so well liked here and we sure will miss them. I know Betty will continue reading the Plaindealer and Betty, we miss you already. It just will not be the same with out seeing you and Milt and kiddies. ALL FOR THE CHURCH The CTrarth fe thr greatest fectar on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It, is a storehouse of spiritual values Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every I«rson should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's .'-like. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church ngu- Iarly and read your Bible daily. I was a little girl, then. The pews at our church were rough wooden benches, and my feet wouldn't reach the floor. But, as though It were yesterday, I remember his sermon. About a woman who poured oil on the feet of Jesus. Some people said this was a wasteful thing to do. The oil was expensiye; the money might have been given to the poor • • • But Jesus wasn't angry with the woman! "In the eyes of God," our old minister said, "the most precious treasurers the love in a human heart." No single thought has influenced my life more than that one. Most of my happiness -- all of my strength when sorrows come -- have been somehow entwined with that simple truth. I shudder at times to think; what if that day I had not been there? A sermon, a prayer, a Bible passage does not touch the same chord in every heart. But as you seek each Sunday to see life through the eyes of God, there will come mighty visions stirring the depths of your soul. Copyright 1963, Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburf, Va.
