The sale will start at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. or until all baked goods are gone. There will be home-made bread, pies and doughnuts, as well as the usual cakes and cookies. Come early for the best selection. Give yourself a treat and come on, down to Martin's Farm. The committee will accept any donations of baked articles. Back From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. John Hogan returned to their home on Wednesday after spending almost a week touring and sightseeing. They took in the Smoky Mountains, the Caves, Rock City and back to Illinois, where they visited Lincoln's home in New Salem. Then it was back to Ringwood. Ilua reported their trip a very enjoyable one, with the exception that some of the time the temperature got to 110 degrees, which is quite warm! Attend Graduation Ceremonies Mr. and Mrs. John Hogan and Jerry attended the graduation mass and ceremony of Miss Ruth Ann Schoenholtz last Sunday. Miss Schoenholtz graduated from the St. Charles hospital's nursing school. The mass was held in St. Nichols church, along with the graduation, followed by a reception held in McHenry at th^ home of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Schoenholtz. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson of Greenwood. Fossum Girl* Sing The Fossum girls, Susie, Cristy, Betty and Candy, with their father as accompanist, sang at the McHenry County Fair at Woodstock a couple of weeks ago. The girls were part of the entertainment during the Crowning of Miss McHenry County. From all who heard these talented girls, there are only compliments. Ringwood can well be proud of the Fossum girls' talent. We hope to hear more from these'girls in the future. Smith Family Reunion The lawn of the B. T. Butler home was pretty well occupied last Sunday, with sixty-five persons there for the Smith family reunion, which is held annually. Princess Pat Busy Miss Pat Hogan, state Dairy Princess, is spending the full week as the hostess for the dairy and farm products at the Illinois State Fair held in Springfield. Pat's mom, Mrs. John Hogan. Wm be going to the fair ofl Thursday. She will be taking Miss McHenry County, Shirley Sill, and Miss Gail Marquart, the former Miss McHenry County for Governor's Day. They will be kept busy during their stay, with apperances for many different events. Ringwood's Second Defeat Gateway scored a run in the sixth inning of the game last Wednesday night to win the game 1-0. This is Ringwood's second loss of the season, with tonight's (Monday) game the last one on the schedule, against Pell Lake. There should be a couple of rained-out games to be played within the next week, but I don't know when, as of this writing. The tournament will start on the twenty-sixth, and continue through the twenty-ninth. These games will depend on the standings at the end of the regular season. Little League The Sox team won both games last week. On Monday they downed the Yankees by a score of 12 to 7. The Pirates took the defeat on Thursday by a score' of & to 4. Next week is the last of the Little league schedule, which goes as follows: Monday, the nineteenth, it's the Pirates versus the Sox and on the twenty-second, the Pirates tangle with the Yankees. Here 'n' There Mrs. Robert Brennan, Robert, Patricia and Linda, had lunch with Mrs. Jack Laures at her home in Essex Acres on Wednesday. Also attending were Mrs. Don Freund and children and Mrs. Robert Knox and children, all of Crystal Lake, and Mrs. Elaine Freund, Mrs. Robert Miller and children of McHenry. Mrs. Laures is Bobby's godmother and helped him celebrate his birthday a little early. His birthday is Aug. 25. Monday afternoon callers in the home of Mrs. Nellie Hepburn were Mr. and Mrs. Kuplic and daughter of Wheaton. Will Claxton of McHenry was a dinner guest in the home of his sister, Mrs. Ruby Sbepard, on Sunday. Mrs. J a meg Wegener and Mrs. Robert Brennan were Meadowdale and Dundee visitors on Friday afternoon. Frank Kempfer spent the weekend visiting with his daughter and family in Chicago. On Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Swanson of Omaha, Nebr., called on Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hawley. It was held at Memorial hall in Richmond on Saturday evening. Mrs. J. C. Pearson took Mrs. Robert Brennan to luncheon at Dundee on Tuesday. They also visited a pottery plant. Mrs. Laura V. Smith of Crystal Lake and Miss. Rust Henne of Chicago were weekend guests in the Harrison home. On Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hawley of Crystal Lake were callers in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hawley. Mrs. Nellie Hepburn is spending a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schuetze of Waterford, Wis. Mrs. Paul Miller, of Kenosha, Wis., Jane and Janet Blackmon of Richmond and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Fliener of Wonder Lake were callers in the home of Mrs. Nellie Hepburn on Tuesday. Mrs. James Wegener attended a bridal shower in honor of Miss Nancy Nordgren of Waukegan, held in the Mrs. Phelps Saunders home in Sycamore on Sunday. Miss Nordgren will became the bride of Vic Boettles of Waukegan on Aug. 31. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carr and Charles attended the Illinois State Fair in Springfield on Saturday.
