The final standings were not determined until Tuesday's game had ended. Monday saw the Pirates defeat the Tigers and on Tuesday t he- Braves also defeated the Tigers. In first place for the 1963 season are the Orioles who had 12 wins and 3 losses. The Pirates hold second place with 10 wins and 5 losses, third place is held by the Tigers who ended with 9 wins and 6 losses. The Sox team ended in fourth with 6 wins and 9 losses. Fifth place is held by the Braves with 5 wins and 10 losses and in sixth place are the Cubs who ended with a 3 win and 12 loss-jceeor^ While attendance was good it could have been so much better, we hope that next year will see many more parents show enough interest in their boy to get to watch at least the games he plays in. We'd also like to extend to the managers and coaches of all six teams our very warmest gratitude for not only helping to teach our sons basemall by giving up so very many hours but also for helping provide us with recreation for these past summer weeks. Togetherness The very first day of September will have Sue and Ron Funk celebrating their twelfth year of wedded bliss. We sincerely hope they will have many, many more very happy years. I'll bet Ron will be without Sue's company a few of the hours of their day, Sue is an ardent baseball fan and I know she'll see the All Star game. Hope the boys make you happy with a win that day Sue. Open Meeting To all of you who get the paper on Wednesday evening remember that tonight is meeting night for little league. These meetings are open to all parents of all boys playing in the league. The men who have been so active during these past years would sure like to see some new faces at their meetings. All Stars Our team didn't fare too well over this past weekend. Saturday our team and their loyal followers ventured to Mc- Cullom Lake where Lakeland Park came out on the losin<; end of a 4 to 2 score. Our boys played this same team a week ago and won. Sunday our team was host to the Wonder Lake team who came out on 1he winning end of a 14 to 7 score. The weather man wasn't very kind to either players or to the loyal rooters, it felt morf> like football weather. Our team will play at Wonder Lake next Sunday at 2 and we hope they come home with a win. Girl Scouts With the arrival of September and the return to school Scouts have begun going at full steam, that is Cub and Boy Scouts but what about Girl Scouts? Hasn't any one done any thing about all the girls who want scouting so badly, It seems a real shame that with the wonderful boys activities in our community our girls are completely forgotten. Hope You're Better We'd like to express our very fastest and best get-well Wishes to Mrs. Kay Reining and Mrs. Ma reel la Raiford who were both hospital patients during the past week. Also hope Paul Schwegcl's leg is on the mend. Hoik? the bugs that felled Tommy Daurio, Randy Funk and^ Jackie Laursen have.passed by now. This was sort of a farewell tiarty as the Andersons are heading for Washington, D.C., to take up residence and Sam Rizzo and his son are going back home to get him ready for college. The Rizzos hope to be able to make a trip to Washington sometime in the next four years to visit these folks and do some sightseeing. Ed's cousin, Angie Pausch, her husband, Frank, and their three children were also among the visitors for the week, they hail from Wisconsin. Johnny Ilenneberg, better known to the follower^ of Mc- Henry's Pony League, as "Little Nell" celebrated his birthday on Monday by taking several of his friends to the show. Tommy Wagner and Donny Williams attended the Episcopal servers picnic on Sunday at McCullom Lake. They had a terrific time playing football, wrestling and all sorts of exerting games with their pastor, Father Northway. The group had a ball, as we were told not only in activities but also devouring all the food. The members of the church sure do appreciate and have the greatest of'praise for their new pastor.
