On Sept. 7, at 5:41 p.m. ill McHenry hospital, Chris gave birth to an 8 lb. 13 oz. son, no less than 22% inches long. Being the first boy in the family there is no need to say how welcomed he will be by his sifters, Elaine, (12) and the six-year old twins, Melody and Marily. Chris and the baby were reported doing just fine end are no doubt home by now. Our sincere congratulations to Chris and Don on the birth of their son, Donald Stewart. Marge and Harold Palmer became aunt and uncle oncc again when our former residents, Dottie and Hugh Hoyle, increased their family to six with the birth of a son, also on Sept. 7, at McHenry hospital. Baby Andrew weighed in at 5 lbs. when he was born at twelve o'clock noon. He will be welcomed home by Joey, Mary Beth, Timmy, Michael and Barbara. Congratulations to the Hoyle family! Apology My most sincere apology to the Jesski family. After they were kind enough to furnish me with an item for my column a couple of weeks back, it somehow got mislaid and it wasn't discovered until now. I'm sorry, but here it is, better late than never. Jesski family reunion: Flo and Barb Jesski took their three children, Vicki, Greg and Marty, to Villa Boach, Wauconda, for a family reunion on Sunday, August 18. The weather was a bit on the cold and windy side but the company of Flo's brothers and sister kept everyone a little warm, and the barbecue pits helped too. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jesski and their sons, Jeff, Robert and Larry; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jesski and their son, Mark, along with their daughter, Percy, and her in- PROFE^IOnflL DIRECTORS' DR. Jack; Mrs. Eugenia Garb, Flo's sister; and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Jesski and their daughter, Barbara. Flo's oldest brother, Tony, and his wife, Sophie, were unable to attend because of Tony's sickness. Despite the cold weather, the best part of it all was that everyone in the family got a chance to. have a good old family get-together. More Trouble We once again, received a report of trouble with guns. It seems that two members of one of our local families were taking a Sunday stroll through the woods and hearing gunshot quite close decided to get back on the road. While walking along the blacktop a bullet whizzed by the head Of one of them and hit a utility pole. This is serious. What if it missed the pole and hit the person? There are certain areas for hunting and certain areas where ii is against the law. And it seems to me that it's just too darn bad a person can't take a walk in the country without being afraid for his life. I assume, that's what most of us movedi out here for; to enjoy country living. So, if you have a gun or your son has a gun, you'd best find out how to handle it and where to use it and teach your son the proper use of firearms. No Column You're right, there was no column last week; for the plain and simple reason there was nothing to write about. I didn't receive one single phone call. And this is the extent of this week's news. Kind of sad isn't it to think that out of over one hundred families, this is all the news to be shared with our friends and neighbors. Happy Occasions Belated birthday greetings to the following: On Sept. 13 both Shirley Simmons and Helen Wegner celebrated. On Sept. 14 Sarah O'Brien was three years old; and David Hanahan was one year old. On Sept. 16 Gail McDonald turned eight years old. On Sept. 17 Helen Kobus and Eugene Stamsta celebrated. Under The Weather The many friends of Paul Boyk of Chicago will be happy to learn he has returned to his home after three weeks confinement in the McHenry hospital. You will remember he suffered a heart attack whilr visiting relatives here. Paul will spend three weeks at hom< before returning to work. Last week Shirley Lieser underwent surgery at the "Wriodstock hospital. She is recuperating nicely. "Grandma" Katie Huff, has Kathy, Mary Jo and Pete "in Tow" until Shirley is on her feet again. Thank goodness for parents! Jo Ann Freund is nursing an injured arm since falling from her horse. A few more weeks of arm rest and I'm sure she will be as good as new. Attends Convention Mrs. Clara Nell of Sunnyside Beach drive was in Chicago . last week where she attended 1 the National Federation of Republican Women silver anniversary convention at a loop hotel. On Wednesday, Barry Goldwater was the guest speaker. That evening the husbands joined their wives for the dinner.
