The time is 9 p.m., the place, the McHenry American legion home. If you haven't gotten your tickets you can still do so from any player, manager or coach. Tickets will also be available at the door. Hope we see many of you at the dance. Woman's Club Meeting If it seems like we just had a woman's club meeting, we did, but we also have another one coming up next week. Mark this date on your calendar as we have some important business to take care of. Pink Bundles Former residents of our subdivision, Marge and Bill Casey, have sent word that they are now proud parents of five wonderful daughters. Their number five daughter, Jayne Marie, made her grand entrance into our world at Memorial hospital on Friday, Sept. 13. Little Jane made her entrance at 9 pounds, 12 ounces. Helping mom and dad to spoil the latest Casey are sisters Kim, Cindy, Mickey and Margie. The Ca.seys now reside in Marian Parkway. Woman's Club News Somehow we goofed good last week and we are truly sorry for missing the names of those very wonderful ladies who acted as judges in the club's crazy hat contest. The ladies acting as terrific judges were Mrs. Helen Rodenkirch, Mrs. Florence Welter and Mrs. Shirley Lexow. The club's annual Snowball dance will be held on Dec. 7th at the Johnsburg community hall. Gayle Laursen is chairman for the book for this event and Delia Julian is in charge of well-wishers. It may seem like quite a while before the dance but time has a way of fleeting, so mark your calendars now. Welcome Party To all ladies, both new and old residents of our subdivision, who have never attended a welcome party, plan on being at the Community House on Oct. 24, at 8:30. You'll have an absolutely terrific time and meet many of your neighbors. Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., - Baton classes; Tuesday, Oct. 1, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., dancing classes; 6:30 to 7:30, Boy Scout Indian dance practice; 7:30 to 9, Boy Scout meeting; Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m., Cub Scout committee meeting; Thursday, Oct. 3, 8:30 p.m., Woman's club. Football News The men were quite pleased to see all the boys that came out for football. Any boy who is interested in this sport can come out. The next football practice will be Saturday, Sept. 28, at the community house ait 2 p.m. The men who are working with our boys are John Flannigan, Ken Grothman and Joe Prazak. There also is a young man, Ken Prazak, who is helping our men. From talking to some of the boys, they sure did enjoy themselves. Get-Well Wishes To Mark Webber, who is recupperating from a tonsillectomy. Hope your feeling better real soon. Birthday Wishes Happy birthday wishes go to Stanley Pankiewicz, Jr., on Sept. 27. He will be 11, and to Liz Borchert, who also celebrates on the 27th; to Jerry Zalud who will be' 13 on the 29th; to Ken Prazak, who will be 15 on the first of October; and to Frank Vanek, who will be 13 on the second; also to Eddie Gerstad, who will be all of 2 on the first. Happy Anniversary Happy anniversary to Max and Shirley Koch, who are celebrating eleven years of togetherness on the 27th, and to Arlene and Frank Bartos on the 29th. May you have many more years of wedded bliss. Little League News At the meeting held last week, the officers for the coming year were elected. The following men will take office in October: Newly elected president, Ted Kaminski; newly elected vice-president, Bob Matthews; remaining as secretary is Les Eckhart and Ray Rode remains as treasurer. Ron Meurer is the newly elected Coffee Strips Lyda Radisch has asked us to remind all of our residents to save those coffec can strips and labels. She'll gladly pick them up-jf you can't get them to her. Mixed Bowling Meeting Just a reminder that tonight, Thursday, at 8:30 p.m. there will be a meeting at the community house for all the couples who are in the couples bowling league. Brownies This is it, girls. All second and third graders who are interested in Brownies can contact Marge Webber (385-2266) or Fran Quast (385-4087) before Oct. 5. The number of girls they can take is limited so don't wait too long. The meetings will be held on Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:30, with the first meeting on Oct. 8. We also feel thai the league would like us to express its deepest graditude to Joe Prazak, the out-going president, for these past two years for a job well done. It was decided at the meeting that on Oct. 19 the men will remove the fencing from the ball field. Anyone willing to help, please be at the field. Oct. 12 has been set as the deadline for the return of all dance tickets and monies. This should be done with, chairman of the dance, Ron Meurer. Postcards that will designate whether or not fathers and sons will attend the banquet on Oct. 12th should be returned immediately so the proper amount of reservations can be made. The league's next open meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23. We were more than pleased to have heard that a mother attended a meeting. These are open to all parents. Not too many fathers show up, but we'll bet mothers will. Cub Pack Meeting Last Monday, Sept. 16, the first Cub pack meeting of the fall season got under way. Mr. Matthews, welcomed everyone to the first meeting. Roll call was taken, with a tie for most parents attending between Den 2 (Shirley Koch's den) and Den 5 (Aggie Prazak). It was announced that on Oct. 19 there would be a tour of O'Hare field. More details later. The Cubs are selling address labels so if you would like to help our Cubs out and no one has been around to see you, I ' m s u r e i f you c a l l Bob M a t thews he will take your orders. The next pack meeting, it was announced, they will have a Halloween party. Johnny Arient and Billy Eckart received their Webelos certificates showing they have graduated from Cubs to Boy Scouts. The Cub charter was then presented to Mr. Eckart as the Cub committeeman for Pack 459, given by Mrs. King, the district representative. Refreshments were then served by Den 2. On Wednesday, Oct. 2, there will be a Cub Scout committee meeting at the community house at 7:30 p.m. Red Crow Drive Vicky Bottari is chairman for this year's Red Cross drive. Strolling Through The Park A surprise buffet supper was served to many of Jack Hertzog's friends, honoring his birthday, by his wife, Jeannette, last week. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Eckhardt and "Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kraskiewicz and Mike, Mr. and Mrs. James Mooney and children, from Round Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barnett and children, from Arlington Heights, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brown and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Long and Barbara from Wauconda; and from Fox Lake, David Mooney. Also enjoying the delicious dinner was Jack's sister, Mrs. Jean Golobjsh. Vicky Bottari held a demonstration last week. Maureen Johnson was demonstrator and Ann Wohnrade acted as the model. Attending were Marie Wohlert, Nancy Fout, Louise Henneberg, Esther Cygan, Rita Zimny, Helen Gerambio, Carol Zimny, Ruth Roach, Edith Lavin and Vicky's mother, Mrs. Mazzone. Edna Hountras had guests for two days this past week, former residents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hammond, who now reside in Florida. Edna had a luncheon and dinner for them and Ann Harzog. Ann in turn had them all for breakfast on Friday. They all enjoyed catching up on the past year's activities. Sue and Ron Funk had Ron's folks out over the weekend. Grandpa Funk did a wonderful job painting Sue's kitchen. Our subdivision's Tripoli club resumed at Ivy Lezak's with a delicious luncheon. Lady Tripoli players are Helen Mc- Enery, Ivy Lezak and Ann Herzog. Many of these ladie3 also belong to our subdivision's bridge club, which also held its first meeting at Lucille Deitz's home. Bridge players are this month's hostess, Lucille, plus Ivy lezak, Joyce Braun, Ruth McMahon, Ruth Chadwick, Ann Leigh and Ann Herzog. Delia Julian substituted for Louise McEnery. Those luscious hicalorie refreshments that the ladies look forward to each month were served. Coming out as top players were Ruth McMahon in first, and Ann Deigh in second.
