Chapel Hill road, McHenry, completed advanced artillery training as a cannoneer at the Artillery and Missile center, Fort Sill, Okla., Sept. 15. Weirch entered the Army in April, 1963, and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The 17-year-old soldier attended McHenry high school. James J. Prasil, 17, son of Mrs. Stanly A. Schlieben of 402 North Lily lane, McHenry, is undergoing nine weeks' basic training at the Naval Training center, Great Lakes. The training includes naval orientation, history, and organization, basic military law, seamanship and shipboard routine, ordnance, gunnery and damage control, sentry duty and military drill, physical fitness, swimming, first aid and survival. Burke, district deputy of District No. 33, will officially visit McHenry council, Knights of Columbus, as a representative of the state deputy of the K. of C. organization on Thursday, Oct. 10,tat Grand Knight Vincent W. Charles urges all officers and committee chairmen to be present for this important meeting. 8 p.m. District Deputy Burke will meet with the officers and commute chairmen of the council's six-point program committee to check on their program and activities, and to bring helpful Suggestions and recommenda^ tions from the state and Supreme body. Mr. Burke is the personal representative of the Illinois State council, which is composed of 257 councils with 82,000 Catholic men affiliated in the state. OBITUARIES -- Perdonali -- CLYDE CLARK Clyde Chester Clark, 82, of 8815 Rt. 120, Woodstock, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, at his home between McHenry and Woodstock. Last rites will be conducted! Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Peter M. Justen and Son funeral home, with burial in Ringwood cemetery. ALFRED CARLSON Alfred Carlson, 86, of 4810 E. Wonder Lake road, Wonder Lake, died Monday, Sept. 23, in his home. The body was taken to the George R. Justen and Son funoral home and then to the Matz chapel at 3440 N. Central avenue, Chicago, for last rites. LOUIS BLENNER A week's illness ended)in the death of Mrs. Lois Blenner, 40, of 2312 Orchard Beach, McHenry, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at St. Francis hospital, Evanston. Mrs. Blenner was born in Chicago Jan. 26, 1923, and had resided in the McHenry area for the past nine years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church. Survivors are the husband, William; five children, William, Jr., in service, Joseph, Thomas, Susan and Ann Marie, all at home; also a sister, Rosemary Freres, of Orchard Beach. The body rests at the William Meyer chapel at 6251 Dempster street, Morton Grove. Mass will be sung at 10 o'clock Friday morning from St. Martha's church, Morton Grove, with burial in All Saints cemetery. PAI L KAIILS Paul P. Karls of 3709 Grand avenue, McHenry, son of Mrs. Adelia Karls, enlisted in the Army on Sept. 7. He is a 1963 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school. The young, man chose the automotive mechanics repair course, and he is now in basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. Gerald Boetsch, son of the William Boetsches of Burton's Bridge, who spent his first year of college at Northern Illinois university, his second at Salvatorian seminary, St. Nazianz, Wis., and his third at Mount St. Paul college seminary in Waukesha,, Wis., has now enrolled at the St. Paul seminary in St. Paul, Minn., for the coming year.' Mrs. Sarah Queerty of Detroit, Mich., is spending the week with Mrs. Laura Sherman. Mrs. Martha Feltz and Mrs. Pearl Patzke were weekend guests in the Ralph Patzke home in Champaign. The Donald Freund family of Crystal Lake and the Joseph Petitclair family of Waukegan were dinner guests in the Mrs. A. P. Freund home Saturday evening. Pictor, an Air Force academy liaison officer from 4117 W. Crestwood, spent his annual twoweek reserve tour at the academy near Colorado Springs, Colo. During the active-dutytour he observed cadet activities and discussed the academy program of education with cadets from his home area. Lt. Col. Pictor provides information about the academy to young men, their parents and school guidance counselors.
