Two more of our young people choso mates and tbok the long walk down that Qver so long aisle. On Sept. 14, pretty blonde Kathy Monahan dT J&k-Ana Heights became Mrs. Joseph Stanford. A beautiful ceremony uniting this Couple in marriage was performed at the Evangelical Mission church in Crystal Lake. The newly weds are now at home in Waukegan. T Last Saturday, Arnie Thelen olaimed Gail Schollz of Palatine a£" his life long partner, "the marriage ceremony was performed in St. John's church, (ater that day, the newly marrieds received guests at a inception in the community ciub hall. To both of these couples, we extend lots of happy wishes for a bright future. Chaage Of Address Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fritz are just settling down in their beautiful new home on Hillcrest Place in Jak-Ana Heights. Neither of these people are strangers to anyone in this vicinity. Mr. Fritz has been in the real estate and insurance business here in Johnsburg for many years. We all join in hoping Mr. and Mrs. Fritz "enjoy their new home for many years to come. 'Indies Dine Out Several of the co-workers from the local factory got together_", pnd enjoyed dining out last -Thursday evening. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the lumber-jack type nurroundings when they ate. Participating in the good food consumption were: Pat Kuntz, Betty Lou Hiller, Agnes Weber, Alvina Schumacher, Lorraine Lowery, Zelda Malochleb, Stella Raycraft, Norma Grothman and Flo Nelson. During the evening, the plans for a Halloween party were kind of tossed around. They think in case it comes into being it most probably will be held at Stella Raycrafts' house. Flo Nelson is second choice to be the "Halloween Hostess with the Mostest." Anyway we hope they have fun where ever they have the party. Hospital Patients Home Mrs. Shirley Lieser is recuperating at her home following recent surgery/ It will be several weeks yet before she will l)e able to run her home and care for her three children. Grandma Huff is doing a good job keeping Ihings going until Shirley is OK again. Also recuperating at home following surgery is Mrs. Barbara Hettermann. She entered Chicago-Wesley hospital on Tuesday and returned home Saturday. A recuperation period is also on Barb's agenda. Housework and little Bobby will just hrtve to be someone else's concern for a short time. Get well wishes for a quick recovery to Shirley and Barb from all of us "well" people. (Jetting Away From It All Pete and Marge Peterson took off for a few days last week and enjoyed the fall weather in Michigan. Marge's Dad stayed at the house to "ride herd" on David and Peggy until their return. the Bill May and Richard Dehn families. A sister, Mrs. Emm^ Freund of McHenry, also sur vives. Association Elects New Officers Over eighty members were on hand for the first meeting of St. John's Home and School Association of this year. At this time officers to head the association were elected. They were Pat Brennan as president, Darlene Huemann as vice president, Rosemary Lutz as secretary and Beverly Lewandowski as treasurer. We wish these ladies lots of success in the school months ahead. The committee in charge served cookies and coffee at the^, close of the business meeting. Next week I will bring all the recent rescue squad call up to date. Maybe I'll also have some figures concerning th* squad calls that will probably amaze all. Watch this column next week! Remember news items should be called to me each Monday by noon. Try calling soon. Notes Of Sadness Death claimed Everett Fowler of Pistakoe Bay last week at the age of 49. He passed away at the McHenry hospital following an illness of several months. Our sincere sympathies are extended to his widow, Luella, three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Freund succumbed at her home on Johnsburg road early last Friday mornine after a lenghty illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at St. John's church with interment in the church cemetery. Our heartfelt sympathies to EMPLOYEES RltjHTS The Illinois Fair Employment Practices Commission (FEPC) has released a brochure on the lights of individual citizens under the Fair Employment Practices law. Called "A Message to People Who Work," the brochure advises all citizens of their rights under the Illinois law which requires merit employment. Charles W. Gray, chairman of the FEPC, said copies of the brochure will be made available to individuals or organizations on request. He said such request should be directed to the FEPC offices, 205 W. Wacker Drive, Chicago, or the Ridgely Building in Springfield. McHenry Shores BOAT AND SKATE EXCHANGE HELD AT OLBINSKI HOME By Bernlee Wilson 885-4SW Any mothers with children having boots or ice skates that no longer fit. are invited to be at Jerry Olbinski's home on Oct. 16 from 7 to 9 in the evening with articles to be exchanged. On Oct. 17 anything still left may be purchased by anyone who is interested. This is open to all residing in the Shores so check up on these two items and bring them in. S.S.A.C. Cook Out The officers of the SSAC Club report a very good turnout at the beach on Sept. 21. Although the evening was far from warm 137 adults and forty-four children were served sleak, salad, baked potato and beverages, and after dark a huge pi^e oNl^gs was set afire to helix warm ufMJie area. The boys are ^planning a Halloween party for tshe kids so watch for further reports on this. On Oct. 3 Bornice and Walter Wilson 'thal's me and paw' will be celebrating quite a few years of togetherness and on Oct. 5 Marvin and Beatrice Burehfield will observe their big day.
