Chuck Whitney has entered McHenry hospital for tests and observation and will have to remain from 10 to 14 days. Charles Wagner has been in the hospital since Tuesday with pneumonia and Leona reports that he was feeling better today. All of usi in the Shores join in wishing them a speedy recovery. Newest Of Models Two of our residents in Johnsburg became new grandparents within a day of each other. The Joe Millers welcomed a granddaughter on Nov. 5, while on Nov. 6 the A1 Oefflings became proud grandparents of a lovely little girl. Christine Marie is the name chosen for the fourth child of Howard and Mary Ann Knox. She arrived at the McHenry hospital weighing 8 lbs.. 3 oz. This little one should get lots of attention from her three big brothers, Billy, Stevie and Mark. Tom and Andy Oef fling named their first child, Elizabeth Ann. Around The Shores Darlene Hattan and Audrey Whitney attended a luncheon in Chicago at the home of Marlys Amend. Fourteen other women who were all classmates in grammar and high school came in for the yearly reunion and brought their children with them and they ehjoyed talking over old times when they were young and g«*y- Bill Lindwall has been transferred to Ft. Gordon, Ga., and is now in the M P's. He is hoping to get home on leave for the Holidays which will be here before too long. Charles Lindwall's mother went home to F,ncinita3, Calif., after a 7 week stay in the Shores. Her sister from Philadelphia came in and they went back together. After getting her affairs in order she will be returning to make her home with Connie and Charlie. The Lexows took a trip to Minnesota last weekend and visited old friends of Howie's in Minneapolis and a childhood playmate of Joyce's in Butterfield. It was the first vacation for Lee and Beth and they thought it was great fun. Sewing Circle The next meeting of the sewing club will be at Nancy Ewald's on Nov. 19. Helen Smith and Pat Petersen are now in charge of this project and will appreciate any donations or help. Meeting The regular meeting of the McHenry Shores Club was held on Nov. 7 and after refreshments were served Ing Corcoran showed colored pictures of spots in Sweden and Denmark which she visited this summer. As the pictures were on the screen she told us details of the scene and stories connected with it so we all felt as if we had a guided tour and enjoyed it very much. Life is a Book- Read it well, as you have <-niy one chance: ROUND LAKE YOUTH COUNCIL HOSTS CONFERENCE The Round Lake Area Youth Council will host the annual Aurora District Conference on Youth, presented in conjunction with the Illinois Youth Commission, Division of Community Services, Nov. 14 from 7:30 to 9 45 p.m. at the Round Lake school. This is a part of a state-wide offort to prevent juvenile delinquency through information, education and community enlightenment. The Division of Community Services, working through local community committees, has made grert strides in reduction of delinquency commitments throughout the state of Illinois. The Aurora district branch of the Illinois Youth commission includes the counties of DuPage,. Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will. The Virgin River, Utah, carries some 3 million tons of sediment into the Colorado River each year.
