CAROLERS DRESS COSTUMES OF OTHER COUNTRIES ••Rehearsal* are under way tar the McHenry Choral club nu preparation, for their annual holiday program, which this U^enr Will be held Saturday and Sunday evenings, Dec. 7 and 8, bl the hiffh school auditorium. In carrying out an international theme, one particular section will be devoted to carols of other lands, with soloists and ensembles attired in appropriate costumes. A beautiful, specially lighted tree will be a feature of this section, decorated with unusual ornaments familiar to the various countries. Included among the carols Will be " the familiar "Jesu Bambino" and "Q Holy Night," as well as others which are popular within their own country. Tickets are now on sale by members of the club, of which LeRoy Hiller is president; Phyllis Glysing and Tim Wheelock, vice-presidents; Patty Brooke, secretary; Ruth Barger, treasurer; and Ray and Donna Jensen, librarians. Scenic arrangement are being handled by Jensen and another club member, Franklin Oakley, the latter a scenic director for one of the leading Chicago television channels. Their very professional scenes provided for last spring's program will be remembered by many. TICKETS FOS YOUNGMAN SHOW NEAR SELL-OUT An advance ticket sales survey conducted by the committee in charge of this department indicates that by the end of this week there will be no tickets left for the Henny Youngman show to be presented at the McHenry Country club on Saturday, Nov. 30. The world renowed comedian is being presented by the McHenry Township Republican Central committee, of which John Licastro is the chairman. He is also serving on the show committee headed by Anthony Varese. Others include Jake Levesque, who is in charge of sales, Joe Fi ett and Chuck Miller. Two more very fine acts will precede the main attraction. They include Diane Men-ill, a chanteuse and raconteur with a wonderful professional reputation, and Raye and Roman, billed as the world's most spectacular acro-adagio dance team. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., with dancing following the entertainment. When contacted, Mr. Varese stated:"This will be the finest evening of entertainment ever offered in this area. ELVINA LATIMER SHARON THIEL BECOMES BRIDE OF WILLIAM DUST St. John the Baptist church, Johnsfevrg, was the setting for a beautiful fait wedding 1a«t Saturday, Nov. 16, when Miss Sharon Catherine Thiel became the bride of Mr. William Edward Dust. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob thiol of 3806 N. St. John's avenue, McHenry, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Du.it of 12605 80th avenue, Palos Park, 111. Rev. Fr. John M. Dording officiated at the 11 o'cl»>ck nuptial rite, for which the children's choir sang. The altars were banked with bouquets of large white mums and white gladioli. Miss Thiel was radiant as she approached the altar wearing an imported bombazine and chant illy lace, chapel length gown, styled with sabrina neckline adorned with iridescent sequins and pearls, fitted bodice and long pointed sleeves. The five-tiered full skirt with chantilly lace border was caught up in front with a bombazine cabbage rose. Her silk illussion, three-tiered, bouffant veil fell from an aurora borealis crystal and pearl queen's crown. Acting as attendants for the bride were her sister, Joyce Thiel, as maid of honor, Cathy Michels of McHenry and Fran Basick of Palos Hills, friends, and Maureen Dust of Chicago, niece of the groom, as bridesmaids. Thejfoung ladies were all attired fri peacock colored, silk brocade dresses fashioned with fitted bodices and bracelet length sleeves highlighted with a floating panel in front of their full skirts and a bow in back. They wore matching bow, half hats and maline bouffant veils. Miss Thiel carried a bouquet of light peacock blue, snowdrift pom poms in cascade style, centered with large white mums. The bridesmaids carried snowdrift cascade bouquets, also in peacock blue. Norman Dust of Palos Park, brother of the groom, served as best man and groomsmen were Kenneth Dust of Longmont, Colo., brother of the groom, Thomas Thiel of McHenry, brother of the bride, and John Weideman, of McHenry, nephew of the bride. Mrs. Thiel selected a poudre blue, silk brocade sheath dress, fitted jacket and matching leaf and small buds half hat with veil trim. To complete her ensemble, she wore matching shoes and gloves and carried a white beaded purse. Mrs. Dust wore an emerald green, silk brocade sheath dress, fitted jacket, matching berry pillbox hat with veil and matching accessories. Mrs. Thiel wore a yellow orchid and Mrs. Dust a white orchid corsage. Breakfast for fifty guests was served at the Johnsburg Community club at 1 o'clock, and at 5:30 o'clock, friends and relatives gathered there for an evening reception. Following a week's honeymoon spent in Rockton, the couple will make their home at 3919 W. Main street, McHenry. The bride is a graduate of McHenry Community high school with the class of 1962 and is employed as a secretary at R & D Thiel, Inc., Arlington Heights. The groom received his education at Mendel Catholic high school and Cascia hall. He is a carpenter employed by the Thiel firm. The training included information on working with young members, techniques and skills, demonstrations and some of the "whys" of food preparation. A new film on demonstrations "Let Me Show J'ou" was shown. The McHenry County 4-H federation will meet Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Farm Bureau auditorium in Woodstock. At this time the program for the year will be discussed. This is a change from the regular meeting time. HOLD BENEFIT DANCE NOV. 23 FOR RETARDED The McHenry County Association for Retarded Children is holding a dance benefit Saturday, Nov. 23, at the American Legion post home in Wonder Lake. Funds appropriated will be used for the operation of the McHenry County Training center, which classes are being held at the Wonder Lake Bible church. The school is in its fourth year of operation, with children attending from McHenry, Lakeland Park, Wonder Lake, Richmond, Woodstock and Harvard. Children from Crystal Lake, Lilymoor and Algonquin area on the waiting list. Help is needed to train these children to lead more useful lives in the county. FATHERS CLUB MEETS The Marian Fathers club will meet Tuesday evening, Nov. 26, at 8 o'clock at Marian high school. The public is invited to hear Stuart Hughes, Gene Losee and Fr. JANSEN-CARLO VOWS EXCHANGED LAST SATURDAY A wedding ot interest was solemnized last Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10 o'clock in the morning when Patricia Jansen of Manitowoc, Wis., exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Robert Carlo, son of Mrs. Charlene Jacobsen of 901 Shady Lane, Wonder Lake. The wedding took place in Waukegan. The bride was charming in a grey and white suit, with which she wore matching accessories and' a corsage of red tearoses. A dinner was served to eight at Martinetti's at Crystal Lake following the service, after which ten guests gathered for a reception at the home of the groom. The newlyweds will reside at Manitowoc, Wis. PETER REILAND TAKES COLLEGE ON-JOB TRAINING Peter Reiland, son of Peter Reiland, 1615 S. Lily Lake road, McHenry, is one of twenty Drake university students combining "on-the-job" training in retailing this fall with regular classroom work on the campus. Reiland is participating :in the Cooperative Retail Training program of the Drake college of business administration and the Retail Merchants bureau. Reiland spends sixteen hours a week learning not only selling techniques but also credit and personnel practices and methods ot merchandising, buying and advertising.
