Auxiliary News By Renre Jende The regular meeting of the women's auxiliary to Fox River Post 4600 met on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The meeting schedule for Monday was can- Colled in tribute- to our late President, John F. Kennedy. Wonder Lake Cub Scouts Were presented with six flags prior to the business meeting. Postmaster Paul Eberle, organizational director for Cub Scouts, and Mr. Eherdt, assistant Cub-master, received the flags and expressed their appreciation in behalf of the Cub Scouts. November was "Know Your America" month and we feel that the presenting of flags is a very apt way of expressing this phrase. The flags were presented by the Americanism chairman, Viola Schuble. Mrs. Schuole also presented* flags to Girl Scout Troop 44 from Pistakee Highlands. A new member, Pauline Stcege, was voted in and will be initiated at a later meeting. Kathy Fuhlcr, hospital chairman, was absent so Dora Krocker reported on the Thanksgiving hospital visit. The ladies served turkey sandwiches to the men. Those attending were Kathy Fuhler, Dora Krocker, Daisy Smith, Mary Miller and Florence Doherty. Several ladies had donated time to prepare these sandwiches for the men at Downey. Florence Svoboda, essay chairman, reported that the high school would be participating in the essay contest. The junior high and lower grades are not eligible to enter. Marge Hess is our new blood donor chairman, and Agnes Schwingl has accepted the civil defense chairmanship. Presidcni Genevieve Bradley and Treasurer Marge Moreth, attended the 5th district meeting in Addison, 111. Election for junior vice' president was held. Our new junior vice-president is Jean Wiles. Congratulations, Jean, we know you can fill this office very ably. Dorothy Reinboldt was appointed secretary. Both ladies were sworn in by Daisy Smith, 5th district junior vice-president. Admiral and Mrs. Peary became parents on one of their arctic explorations -- their farthest-north-bom white ch|« daughter, Marie, being the | on record.
