Thursday, December 12. 1963 THE M LAINDEALER Eastwood Manor MEMBERS TRIM TREE AT EMPOA MEETING DEC. 20 Laverne Saynor 385-5429 Don't forget to attend the E.M.P.O.A. meeting on Dec. 20, at the barn at 9 p.m. This is the night for the adult tree trimming party. So don't forget to bring an ornament and any refreshments desired. The children's Christmas party will be held on Dec. 21. Teen GInb A basket made up by the teens was delivered to a needy family for the Thanksgiving holiday. They will have a Christmas dance on Dec. 22 from 7 p.m. to 11:15. The hayride was a success even though it was very cold. A good time was had by all including the chaperones, who were Marilyn Salo, Rich Hawkins, Gil and Larry Moore and Marion Alford. A new secretary was elected due to the resignation of Lynn Saynor who is unable to attend all the meetings due to the fact that she is working. Mary Filip is secretary and Linda Stuart is corresponding secretary. Faith Presbyterian Church Thursday, Dec 12 - Senior Choir Rehearsal - 8 p.m. Friday, Dec 13 - Junior Choir Rehearsal-3'30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 - Confirmation Class -9 a.m. Church school program dress rehearsal at the Hilltop Grade School 10 a.m. Bring a sack lunch. Sunday, Dec. 15 - Sermon topic will be "The First Christmas Song." (Christmas according to Luke). Sunday, Dec. 15-7 p.m. - Faith Church School will present a Christmas program at the Hilltop grade school entitled, "Asher, The Camel Boy." Dec. 17 - Cub Pack 454 at the church - 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 - Brownies - 6 p.m. Teacher training in theology at 8:30 p.m. Brownies Election of officers was held. The following girls were elected to office: President - Betsy Stephenson, Treasurer - Cherie Frenner, Secretary - Charlene Jonner, Door Hostess - Kathy Barry. A Christmas party and grab bag will be held on Dec. 18. Around the Manor Christine Prieeter was 10 years Old ori Fn<3ay* A "family party was held. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Russell A. Priester and Kathy and Billy of Des- Plaines, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Hograve, Donnie and Wayne, from Arlington Heights, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Van Digglen and Marian and Tommy and Janet of Meadowdale and Grandma Priester of Desplaines. She received many lovely gifts and an enjoyable time was had by all. On Thanksgiving day the Priester family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shannon and children of Chicago. The Gil Congdons spent Thanksgiving Day with Caroline's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Paulson, of Palmyra, Wis. The Elmer Urbans attended the wedding of their niece, Carol Gorey, to James Bogue on Saturday. The wedding took place at Lady Help of Christian church in Chicago. The dinner was held at a fashionable restaurant for the family. The reception was held at the home of the bride in the evening. Carol and James are residents of our subdivision. They have bought Carol and John Hayes's home. May we extend our congratulations to the newly weds. On Thanksgiving day Al, Charlotte and Billy journeyed to Elk Grove Village to the home of Charlotte's sister and family. Mrs.Marian Etemick spent two week visiting the Elwyn Eternick family. Mrs. Marian Eternick, James Eternick and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and children of Milwaukee were Thanksgiving Day guests of Dorothy, Al and family. The Francis Picketts went to Waukegan to the home of Mrs. Mary Jones for Thanksgiving dinner. The girls left Friday and came back Sunday afternoon. They spent the weekend visiting Grandma and Christmas shopping. Saturday evening we attended the 40/8 Thanksgiving party which was held at a fashionable restaurant in Crystal Lake, other Manorites who also attended the Thanksgiving party at Woodstock were Dick and Lydia Fenner. Monday evening we attended the S.A.L. skating party at the local roller rink. We made this a family affair, putting Aimee on skates for the first time, she did very well. Now we get the same question every day - "When can we go again?" We had as dinner guests at our home on Thanksgiving Day, Friez's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lappeneit, of Lombard. Later in the afternoon, and for a buffet supper, Judy Wright of McCullom Lake was also a guest. Saturday evening Fritz and I drove to Elmhurst to visit my mother who has been on the sick list. It seems that old virus bug got the best of her. At this visiting, she is improving nicely. Surprise visitors at our home on Sunday were my niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis, Jeff and Tammy, and our nephew, Eddy Pauley, and son, Eddy Lee. The Lonnie Campbell family left on Saturday before Thanksgiving for Dalton, Ga., to spend the holiday with both their parents and also for the wedding of Lonnie's sister, Caroline Campbell, to Dayle Tead of Chatsworth. Ga. The Mel Griffeths spent Thanksgiving day at Louise's parents, the Anthony Siadeks in McHenry. Guests at the Gil Moore home on Thanksgiving Day were Mr. and Mrs. Kelch of Island Lake. Get-well wishes go to Mis. Golve of Wauconda, the mother of Larry Moore, who is quite ill in a hospital in Arlington Heights. The Cubs are also having a project of making handmade ornaments to decorate a tree in the American Legion. The Pack is also planning to send to the Illinois Research hospital assorted gifts that they will make. It's a busy month of December for the Cub Scouts of Pack 162 but look "at the rewards. Join usi all at the next Pack meeting of Dec. 26 at 7:15 p.m. at the Legion hall. The theme will be an "Old Fashioned Christmas." of Joan and Lou Laskowski, has a glow all her own. There's a twinkle in her eye and a sparkle on the third finger of her left hand. Jim Adams, a neighbor from Villa Vaupell is the reason. Judy received her engagement ring on Nov. 29. Both Judy and Jim attended and graduated from McHenry high school, and have known each other for many years. No definite wedding date has been set yet. Judy will graduate from Northern College in August of next year. We certainly want to extend our congratulation and sincere best wishes to these two fine young people.
