It has long been puzzling how parents can reason that it's good for the youngsters, but not necessary for them, especially when all indications point to the fact that in case where there is worship together, happier families result and form the basis for better community. A report of special interest comes from Juvenile Judge Sam Tatum of Nashville, Tenn., who tells that of 46,000 juvenile cases he tried in court over a period of twenty-five years, only one family in every 2,700 problem cases attended religious classes or worshipped together as a family. Look Forward To Twenty-Fifth Farm Sports Festival In State Next year will mark the twenty-fifth for the Illinois Farm Sports Festival, commonly referred to as the world's largest rural sports event. It was started in 1936 and has been held annually except for. four years during World War II. The festival is sponsored by the Illinois Agricultural association and ninety-nine Farm Bureaus. One of the major changes in the 1964 festival program of interest locally concerns the district young people's talent find contest. Usually held in late August, it has been re-scheduled to coincide with the Illinois State Fair and will be held on the state fairgrounds on agricultural day. Another change involves the addition of the thirteenth event in bowling for men 65 years and over. Each year this spectacular sports festival draws more than 10,000 rural Illinois men, women and children as participants. One of the fastest growing events in the program -- bowling -- brings about 5,000 contestants into county, regional and state competition.
