Christmas Party Friday This coming Friday, Dec. 20, the Ringwood school youngsters will present their annual Christmas program under the direction of their music teacher, Mrs. Gloria Ritt. These youngsters do a beautiful job of singing the many Christmas carols and putting on the skits that it will be well worth your time to attend. All are invited to come and hear these lovely singing vtilces. Santa will put in his appearance sometime during the evening bringing with him some goodies, so bring all the preschool youngsters to come and visit with Santa. The program will begin at 8 p.m.. in the school building. School Vacation Friday will be the last day of school for the Ringwood students for the year of 1963. Vacation for the Christmas and New Year holidays will be from Dec. 20 until Jan. 6 in 1964. Classes will resume at the usual time. Round-Up Club The Ringwood Round-Up Club held their Christmas gettogether on Saturday evening in the home of Doris and Duane Andreas in McHenry. Doris fixed the turkey with all the other couples bringing a dish of some kind to go with the turkey. After all had their fill, they had a grab bag for Christmas gifts. Spent Two Days In Sunny Fla. Phyllis Ackerman drove her in-laws. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ackerman, to Florida last week. Phyllis spent two days in Eau-Gallie before making the journey back to Ringwood. While there, she got to pick some fresh citrus fruit to bring home with her. Nothing beats the flavor of the fresh picked oranges. Nice to have you back in Ringwood after your fast trip (and unexpected) Phyllis! Mexico For Holiday* I'm sure you all remember Norma Mendosa Alexandre. She is the gal who spent several months with the Walt Low family last year, and has returned to this fair state to attend Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Norma financially found it impossible to go home to her folks in Mexico City, Mexico, for the Christmas holidays, but thanks to the wonderful generosity of her fellow dormitory friends, she will go home. All the gals in her building go together and furnished the money for her ticket as well as a few dollars for expenses. Such a wonderful present was not expected by Norma, but she was overwhelmed with joy. Norma will leave on Friday and return to her studies at DeKalb after the holidays. Happy vacation to you Norma from all of us. On The Sick List Ben Walkington was taken to the hospital in Woodstock last Monday. He should be recuperating at his home by the time you read this column. The virus bug got Ben along with so many others. I'm sure Ben would appreciate a few cards from some of his friends. He will get them if mailed to his Ringwood home. We're thinking of you Ben, hurry and get well. Spends Holidays With Folks Jay Walkington is spending the holidays with his family, the Paul Walkingtons. To Go Christmas Caroling: Linda Low reports: Due to the various Christmas programs the Sr. Hi M.Y.F. won't have any regular meetings till after Christmas. However, on Saturday night Dec. 21 the Sr. Hi M.Y.F.ers will go caroling around the town of Ringwood. This is something that many people don't know of, but the sounds of carols being sung thru the town is such a wonderful sound, that you will be listening and finding yourself singing right along with them. It brings the feeling of Christmas just a little bit closer to each and every one of us, so listen on Saturday Here 'N' There Donria Low spent last weekend in Northern Illinois University at DeKalb as the guest of Norma Mendosa for "Little Sister Week." Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowman spent Sunday afternoon visiting her mother and sister, Mrs. John Ehlert and Mable, in Wilmot, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Oxtoby were Sunday dinner guests in the home of her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Nelson, in Crystal Lake. Bob Brennan attended the double header basketball games in the stadium in Chicago last Tuesday night with Don Wattles and Larryl Eckroth of McHenry. The boys saw Loyola beat Detroit and Northwestern defeated by N.TLli. Both were good games I'm jtfld. Mrs. Ron Cfcedtz and son, Tommy, of Lakeland Park spent Sunday at her mothers, Mrs. John Skidmore, baking Christmas cookies. On Monday, Mrs. Till Engle of McHenry called in the James Wegener home to get acquained with her new nephew, little Charles Wegener. Mrs. Mary Ann Sharp of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leonard and family of Lake Geneva also came' to visit little Charles. On Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Oxtoby visited Mrs. Ernst Auerbach and Friedl at Crystal Lake. Jane Lee Leonard spent the weekend helping her Aunt Mrs. James Wegener, with her new baby. On Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Winn of Richmond called in the Wegener-Wiedrich home, as well as Bill Wagner of Volo Mrs. Gordon Miller of Rich mond called on Mr. and Mrs. James Wegener and boys on Saturday. Mrs. Ed Vogel of Solon Mills, Mrs. Catherine Vogel and Mrs. Dan Lawrence of Elkhorn, Wis., called in the Wiedrich-Wegener home to greet the newest member of the Wegener family on Sunday afternoon. Don is branch manager of the new sales office opened in September at O'Hare airport by a plane manufacturer. Customers from various airports and company officials brought the open house total to approximately one hundred in attendance. Terrace Tidings We'd like to add Cheryl Stahlman to the list of honor students in last week's column. Cheryl, a sophmore at McHenry high school, made the "B" honor roll. Danny Turner has something in common with the Chicago Bear defensive tackle, Earl Leggett, these days. Danny underwent knee surgery early in December at McHenry hospital and had a cartilage removed. He was home one week before returning to school this week on crutches which will be a part of him for about a month. Dorothy and Russell Parker attended the milk drivers and teamsters Union Christmas party in Waukegan on Saturday evening. Following the party the Parkers continued their evening with Nancy and John Andreas of Wildwood. Visiting at the Tom Mcrhaut home on Saturday were Ron Lam berg and his girl friend of Chicago. Sunday afternoon visitors at the Kurowski home were Tony's nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Kurowski, Jr., Chicago. Our sympathy to Bonnie Sabaj on the death of her father, A1 Steimel, in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Services were held on Sunday with burial on Monday. We would also like to extend our sympathy to Lois Perrewe on the death of her 85 year old grandfather, Frank Innes, Milwaukee. Mrs. Innes died of a heart attack on Monday evening and the funeral was held on Thursday in Milwaukee. Birthday Greet! On Sunday afternoon Frank Jakubicek, Jr., celebrated his first birthday with his grandparents, Rose and Tony Jak- Ubicek, godparents, Marge and /tony Jaubicek, and Jean Garlinski of Chicago ^driving out with their good wishes.
