There were eleven teenagers on hand for the meeting and Bill Bischoff donated the first money for their treasury. The next meeting will be held at the home of Walter E. Perschke, 5414 W. Christine Drive. All youths in high school or older youths are urged to attend this meeting and Rev. Doenecke is very hopeful the group'will grow and prosper. With False Alarm - Saturday ,Feb. 22, a neighbor noticed the door of the Clarence Jones home was standing wide open and since Joyce Blackburrr stills has her things in the house it was feared some one had broken in to the home. The neighbor called the sheriff, who searched the house very thoroughly and found everything intact. A couple of days before two women had been there taking things from the home and they had not shut the door properly and the wind had blown it open. Mr. Jones lives in Chicago aria has been renting his house on Meadow Hill Lane very unsuccessfully for him. I am glad I live on a street where the neighbors are interested in their neighbors welfare and will take the time to be a good1 neighbor. News of Your Friends and Neighbors Lil and Leo Orlowski are mourning the death of Lil's brother, Frank Krzykowski of Park Ridge. Frank was buried Monday Feb. 24 with a Requiem High Mass at the Mary Seat Of Wisdom Church in Chicago at 11 a.m. Interment was in St. adalbert cemetery. Frank was the founder and owner of the Avondale Savings and Loan Association, and was still very active in all the doings. He was 85 years old Leo had to attend the funeral and visitation for Lil since she was unable to go. We extend our deepest sympathies to you Lil. Feb. 21, Charlie Schifferdecker stopped to pick up grandma and grandpa VanDyke in Chicago and brought them with him, so they could spend the weekend with him and Rose and the children. Sunday Feb. 23, Charlie's brother and family from Elmhurst came out for a big turkey dinner with all the trimmings, a bealted birthday celebration for Rose. Stan Darmody returned to work last week and was happy to be with his co-workers after being hospitalized since November. Ed and Fran Groth spent last week in California, Ed had a week's vacation, so they took a plane Feb. 24 and spent a few dayV in sunny California. While they were gone Ed's, mother took car& of,the kiddies and the home so Ed and Fran could enjoy a worry free vacation. Saturday, Feb. 22 Tony Schifferdecker was rushed to the McHenry hospital where three stitches were taken in his cheek bone very near the eye. Tony was sliding down the hill with all the neighborhood children and on his way up, he got in the way of a sled coming down. The youth tried to avoid hitting little five year old Tony and the runner grazed him, cutting his face. Poor little guy, he is having a bad time growing up, this is his third trip to the hospital for stitches since they moved here last fall. A spring card party and luncheon was voted on. It will be held April 8, at 12:30 p.m. there will be prizes. The funds derived from the party will be used for community projects. The members also voted to hold the annual banquet April 27. The election for a nominating committee was heid and the following gals were elected to serve on the committee, Anna Cohrs, Lorraine Ullo an# Blanche Haefliger.
