Walter Camyrn, began his career as a pupil at the Adolph Bolm School of Ballet in Chicago. Within a year and a half, after beginning his study, he became a member of the Chicago Civic Opera Ballet, where he danced for ten years. Mr. Camyrn gained invaluable experience during this period when he worked with such opera immortals as Mary Garden and Tito Schipa, under the world's greatest conductors and ballet masters, while continuing his studies under Laurent Novikoff and Michael Fokine. Concert work has occupied most of his time-in recent years and he has gained recognition as an outstanding character dancer. In the teaching and choreographic fields he has gone further in the creating and development Of character work than any dancer today. Mr. Camyrn is also well known in the Chicago area for the interesting, informative lecture demonstrations he has given for the University of Chicago, LaSalle YMCA college, Chicago Teachers college and various career conferences. This symposium, being given in cooperation with McHenry county's ten high schools, will begin at 2 p.m. and last for two hours. There is a small fee, and tickets are available at the office of the principal of each high school. The topic for the evening will be "Why P.T.A." -- this being the question which comes up at most P.T.A. meetings. The speaker for the evening will be Will Carlson, newly elected district director for Boone, Lake and McHenry counties. The exhibit will be held in the Farm Bureau building auditorium which is located at the corners of Rt. 47 and McConnell road on the east side of Woodstock. Carvings, ceramics, drawings, oil, sculpture, watercolor and weavings will be accepted. The classes will be divided into formal training and no formal training. The item must be original work done in the past year. The show is open to high school age students and adults. An educational critique will be held by the jurist, the latter to be a qualified person from one of the state colleges. He will select a representative number of quality paintings for display at a district art exhibition. At this time items will be selected for the state show which will be held at the University of Illinois in Urbana. The state show will be held in the gallery of the Architecture building from Oct. 17 through 31. A small entry fee must accompany each item. C®0KS CORNER By Marie Schaettgen Here is a "one-dish" main course that you might like to serve during Lent. It combines noodles with fish in a rather unusual way. Noodle Ring With Fish % cup melted butter--3 cups cooked noodles--3 eggs, separated. . Stir butter into freshly cooked noodles. Add well-beaten egg yolks, and fold in stiffly beaten whites. Pour into a ring mold, set in a pan of hot water, and bake in moderate (350) oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until knife blade comes out clean when thrust into noodles. Unmold on hot platter, and fill center with any creamed fish. Buttered peas and carrots may be arranged around on platter. Serve with a green salad. Congressman Asks For New Lake County Mint Congressman Robert McClory (R, 111.) has introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives requesting the Secretary of the Treasury to establish a new United States Mint in Lake county. 111. Rosemary Vitacca of Lakein- the-Hills is one of the mtffly youngsters being treated at the Easter Seal Physical Therapy center, sponsored by the McHenry County Chapter of the Illinois Association for the Crippled at Woodstock. Rosemary began treatment in February, 1962, at the age of 2. At that time she could not sit alone and was poorly coordinated. Gradual improvement through exercises, games and playing with toys has been noted. She can now sit alone and tries to keep up with her sister who takes dancing lessons -- that is her greatest hope. She now walks with some support but not too well as yet. She can use her hands but needs more strength in her arms as well as her hands. She is a victim of cerebral palsy. It is for children like Rosemary and those with other crippling diseases, including adults, that the money contributed through the Easter Seal campaign is used. For many years cerebral palsy, neuro muscular disease and strokes were regarded as hopeless but today very few are regarded as such, due to the new techniques being developed and methods of self help. Without contributions there could be no operative budget and treatments necessarily would have to cease. Each year the patient load increases and more funds are necessary to meet the demands.
