Holiday Hills NEW OFFICERS CONDUCT MEETING OF WOMAN'S CLUB i Inez Young The new officers of the Holiday Hills Woman's Club took over at the last meeting, held on Wednesday, March 11, at the home of Phyl Harper. A nurr)ber of important issues came up for discussion and approval by the ladies. Among them were the setting of the date, May 13, for the annual Woman's Club banquet, to be held in McHenry this year. Gerry Postal is heading the committee for the banquet. The biggest step taken by the Woman's Club in recent years is the new recreation committee formed to look into and take care of a number of recreational facilities for our young people. The volunteers for this committee are Vi Abbink, Charis Ary, Connie Ca» tanzaro, Phyl Harper and Jimmie Justes, with Ellen Erickson giving assistance where she can. It sounds a bit early "for swimminng, but this is the time of the year that an instructor for swimming lessons at the lake beach must be contacted, to make it possible for the ladies to make this instruction available to our residents. Jimmie Justes volunteered to contact several prospective instructors. The business for the evening was followed by an enjoyable game. Wednesday's lucky lady vc'as Phyl. Harper. Hostesses for tlie evening were Jimrnie Justes, Joyce Karafa, Dot Gabriel and Gerry Postal. Refreshments were delicious and plentiful. Talented Mnslci»fit» Bring Horn© Awards Two of our local young people came home from the annual district competition held -at Beach Park junior "ugh in Waukeg&n with awards.
