Our program committee failed to,come up with a speaker who wouid talk to Harrison School problems solution other than referendum. Dr. Ruggero was pressed into service as a speaker giving us all the suggestions made to the board. Most of the suggestions centered around split classes, eliminating two teachers. However, this brought up the problem of large classes over the suggested minimum recommended by the state. Another suggestion offered was a straight 6 * percent reduction. About $175,000 of tire budget Is fixed expenses so the whole savings would have to be made on the balance which could not be made without cutting out essential services. Wonder Lake Road who celebrated thieir thirtieth anniversary on Tuesday, March 24. Returns from Extended Vacation Mrs. MyrfTe TJavidson of 7712 Cedar Road has just returned from a wonderful vacation. She was gone for a month and traveled over 6000 miles. She left Feb. 17 by train and went to San Francisco to visit her son, John, and his wife, Carol, and their two children. During her stay there she also made a trip up into Oregon and visited with her brother and sister-in-law and saw quite a bit of the state. She returned home on March 18. This was Myrtle's first vacation in many years and she enjoyed every minute of it. Now that she is back she can re-live it again by telling her family and friends about it. / Former Resident Dies Friends were saddened to learn of the death of Robert Koehr, a former resident of Wonder Woods and owner of the Koehr Supply Company in McHenry. Klyranls Meeting - March 16 "Happy Birthday" was sung to Art Stuhlfeier and Tom Mathews. Bob Meyers is still home recovering from leg surgery. He hopes to get around with crutches soon. . President Floyd appointed Phil Kinzer house chairman. President Floyd again asked all members toybe on the lookout for a piano. The report was given on the interclub with Dundee, March 9. Art Lau will represent us at the Kiwanis National Convention at Los Angeles this June. Districts School Lunch Clinic Mrs.; Ruth Redman of 7619 Oak Road will direct a school lunch clinic to be held April 2 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Woodstock high school. Attending will be personnel from the 165 school lunch programs in McHenry, Kane, Lake, and De- Kalb counties. Details of the clinic will be found elsewhere in this paper. Mrs. Redman is field supervisor of state lunch programs for the State of Illinois.
