W1NKELMAN Mrs. Anna M. Winkelman 70, of 715 N. Center street, McHenry, died last Monday, March 30, at McHenry hospital, where she had been a patient for ten days. Her death followed a year of poor health. . Mrs. Winkelman was born July 23, 1893, in McHenry, daughter of John and Anna Slavin Knox. After several years spent in Oak Park, the family returned here eighteen years ago. For some time she was employed by the Illinois Bel) Telephone company arid was former chief operator at Elgin. Mrs. Winkelman wrfs also a member and former treasurer of the McHenry Woman's club and belonged to St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary sodality. Until poor health forced her to relinquish many of her interests, she remained active and retained the vivacious qualities which the years failed to destroy. She is survived by her husband, Elmer H. Winkelman one son, James, of Tarrytown, New York; four grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and John Knox, and three sisters, Mary, Theresa Keck and Veronica Laures. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home, where the rosary was scheduled to be recited at 8 o'clock Wednesday night. The funeral Mass will be sung at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church, with burial in the church cemetery. LOUIS MAC DONALD On Monday of this week, at graveside rites at Cole cemetery were conducted for Louis MacDonald, 62, of Spring Grove, a retired molder for the Johns- Manville Corp., Waukegan. Mr. MacDonald died Saturday, March 28, in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, where he was admitted the previous day. He was born July 22, 1901, in New Brunswick, Canada. Mr. MacDonald was a World War I Army veteran. Survivors are the widow, Sophia; a son, Louis, Jr., of Ingleside; four grandchildren and a brother, William, in Massachusetts. Haerle, 83, of Wonder Lake, who died in McHenry hospital, Thursday evening, March 26, following an extended illness. Rev. Richard Wright of the Wonder Lake Bible church officiated at last rites, followed by interment in Algonquin cemetery. The deceased was born Oct. 31, 1880, in Chicago, son of Jul' ius and Sophie Meyer Haerle. He made his home there until nine years agb, when he moved to Wonder Lake. PETERSEN Following a nine-week illness, John C. E. Petersen, 77, of Highway 120, Grayslake, died Saturday, March 29, at 1:45 o'* clock in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan. Mr. Petersen was born in Congens, Lyngby, Denmark, Sept. 4, 1886, and came to Canada in 1906. He lived in New York City before coming to the mid-west and settling in Racine, Wis., where he was employed as a baker. He moved to Antioch from Grayslake in 1927, then to Kansasville, Wis., for three years before returning to Grayslake in 1940, where he had engaged in farming. On Mgy 4, 1915, he was married to Pauline M. Petersen at Grayslake. She preceded him in death in 1960. A son, Julius, and a daughter, Edith, also died several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Fred J. of McHenry and Edward E. of Ingleside two brothers and two sisters in Denmark ahd seven grandchildren. Services were held at 1:30 Monday at the Strang funeral home in Antioch, with Rev. Ernest Carder of the McHenry Community Methodist church officiating. Interment was in Hillside cemetery, Antioch. Engelbrecht, is a graduate of the University of Illinois, receiving his bachelor of science degree in engineering and a bachelor of science degree? in, agriculture in January of 1951. He is presently completing his master's degree in agricultural education. Engelbrecht was employed as secretary of organization for the DuPage County Farm Bureau in February, 1951. He then became assistant farm adviser of DuPage county. He was hired as associate farm adviser of Bureau county in 1953 and has been in that position for the past eleven years. During the war Engelbrecht was a sergeant in the Army and was in Hawaii, Dutch East Indies, New Guinea, Philippines and Japan for three and one half years.
