Marian Central Presents Senior Play Mike Mecko, Terrace, and Charlie Kupstis, seniors at Marian Central are members of the "King and I" cast which the senior class will present to the public, April 9, 10, 11 and 12 at the high school in Woodstock. Benoche Receives Another Honor Jeanniejo Benoche, junior at McHenry high school, received another honor this week when she was chosen a member of the National Honor Society. Judging is based on character, scholarship, leadership, and service to the school and community. Congratulations. Terrace Easter Tidings Snow and sharp wind were added starters to this year's Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Terrace Women's auxiliary at the beach the Saturday preceding Easter. However approximately fifty children were present to participate in the ^gg gathering. Twelve special candy prizes were given to the lucky children finding foil covered eggs and all the youngsters received candy before returning home. The hunt iasted a little over one half hour and sometime one wonders if it was j worth the committee's time. But having two small boy& who thought this was the best of Easter I thank Chairman Dorothy Parker and her .committee for a job well done. Another Easter Egg hunt was held on Good Friday from noon till 3 o'clock at the Jim Deppmeier home for twins, Bient and Brad. Although Paul, Jean and Nicole Fedorchak missed the bad road conditions having driven into Wheaton on Saturday they were snow bound on Sunday at her parents, the Charles Daugirds, until Monday. Ron's mother, Catherine Wiggerman, arrived in the Terrace on Saturday to stay until Tuesday. She accompanied the Wiggermans to the Pistakee Highland home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kolan for Easter dinner. Kathi and Barb Parker boarded the train on Friday, destination Grandmother Schwebke, Chicago. On Sunday the Schwebkes returned the girls to Russ and Dorothy and joined in the holiday dinner. Kathi was unfortunate enough to contract strep throat over the school holiday and missed the beginning of school again. Braving the winter-like weather on Sunday were the Joe Benoches as they traveled to Chicago for dinner at the home of Jean's sister and husband, Evelyn and Jim Caccavari. With the turkey dinner Evelyn cooked and that snow, gjrie wonders just what holiday it was. Holiday company at the Don Zamastil home included Chuck Johnson, the Fred Casper family, and Mr. and Mrs. William Zimmerman, Addision. The Len Toepper family enjoyed a visit from his parents, the L. A. Toeppers, Trevor, Wis., and grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Toepper, Antioch, as well as brother, Ronald, and Chris Toepper of Gray slake on Saturday evening. On Sunday the same group gathered at the senior Toepper home in Trevor for the traditional holiday observance. Bob, Jerry, and Mary Dicks traveled to Chicago in that weather on Sunday morning for Easter dinner at her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Syzdlwski. On the way home they stopped at the home of Ray Dicks, Libertyville, for supper. Birthday Girl Eola Hillman was guest of honor at the home of her daughter, Birdie Deppmeier, on Maundy Thursday in celebration of her birthday. Attending the luncheon was Msdmes.. Mecko, Froehling and Ferrell. On the following Tuesday Birr die and the twins treated both Eola and Willard Hillman to dinner in Lilymoor in honor of the birthday. OIL YIELD An estimated 2.4 billion barrels of crude oil worth approximately $4.9 billion have been obtained from the oil fields of Illinois from the 1880's through 1962, according to a report from the Illinois State Geological Survey in Urbana. More than 82 per cent of this oil and 88 per cent of the value have occurred since 1937, the report said.
