We hope Pat will be up and around soon as she has seen enough of hospitals this month. Sunday, the Hromecs helped Frank celebrate his birthday by exchanging gifts and going out to dinner. We heard son, Bruce, came up with the idea to take dad out to dinner. We wonder if it was because it was his turn to do the dishes. You (can see that Frank wasn't the only one happy to go out for the day. Barbara Malinowski and her children came from Milwaukee and spent two days visiting in Lakeland Park. Barbara was always very popular when she lived here so she had a full two days of seeing old friends. Nancy Moses . and LaVerne Hromec accepted Ann Varese's invitation to be her guests for lunch and to see Ann's 'show, V'No Strings." Baby sitters were called and Nancy and LaVerne spent a very pleasant day acting like ladies of leisure. L&st Tuesday, Frank and LaVerne attended the McHenry County Democrat Central Committee and met the Domoeratic candidates from McHenry, Boone, Ogle, Lake and DeKalb Counties. Hope Mrs. Chamblin, Nedra Eckhart's mother enjoyed her visit with the Eckhart family in spite of our bad weather. Heard Lloyd Wagner and Pam Schwegel were victims of that flu bug. Hope they're both up and out by now. Bette and Bill Kamp had a wonderful time at Fontana, Wis., for two days last week. It was a combination sales meeting and social affair for members of the firm Bill is employed by. Grandma and Grandpa Druml did the baby sitting so they had no worries at home. Dottie and Irv Becker, Aggie Prazak, Kay and Ed Druml enjoyed the hospitality of Eleanor and Clar Haerle last Saturday. The hot beef sandwiches were delicious. Grandma and grandpa Becker returned from sunny Florida last week and came out to visit with Dottie and Irv and their grandchildren on Sunday. My folks came back also Sunday from tornado torn St. Louis and Southern Illinois. Fi cm their reports we got off pretty lucky with tinly sleet, snow and rain. Jack Oakford is a patient at Woodstock hospital for -a few days. Hope everything turns out okay for Jack. Helen and Larry Strandqufst had their son, Wayne, and his family from Virginia Beach, Va., visiting with them for ien days. Wayne is an instructor for Naval Tactical Data System. There are only two bases in the states where this instruction is given, one being at Dam Neck, Va., and the other at San Diego. Kathy Strandquist was quite thrilled with the snow as she hadn't seen any for many years. Helen <ind Larry's grandchildren also enjoyed the snow no end, even to filling all Helen's pans with the snow and bringing it into the house. The entire Strandquist clan gathered for a family reunion on Easter and the following day the Mahoney family left to take up residence in that wonderful state of Oregon. Helen reported it was a wonderful 10 days and that she and Larry are going to be mighty lonesome. Mrs. Grondy, Petey Oakford's mom, returned to the city after a week's visit here.
