Beach Work For Sunday Bonny Egerstaffer who heads the beach committee for the Cullom-Knoll association can use many pairs of willing hands for necessary painting and preparing the beach for summer use this Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. The picnic tables which have been repaired need a coat of paint and the raft must be put into the water. Plenty of work to be done but certainly worth the effort. Silver Anniversary For Business Establishment Jean and Hugh McDonald served champagne to their guests recently when they celebrated in the same place. They first opened their doors on May 2, 1939 and have seen many changes take place. They began with a grocery store connected with the tavern. Hugh continued with his employment in the city during those lean years while Jean took care of the customers. Hugh's father lived with the couple until his death. The McDonalds have watched the community change from a resort area to a village which contains over 300 permanent families. We offer them the heartiest congratulations and hope they continue to prosper. Report On Sunday<night, May 10, the Senior High M-Y.F. was greatly honored to have five of our mothers present. Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Decker, Mrs. Fossum, Mrs. McFarland and Mrs. Walkington certainly deserve special mention for the wonderfyl part they took in our meeting. Our meeting was started with a fun-filled treasure hunt for all, including the mothers. The treasure at the end of the hunt proved to be very worthwhile -- the refreshments for the evening. Mrs. Walkington's team came in about two steps ahead of Mrs. Baker's, so the two teams described to share their treasures, and not keep to the previous idea of "winner take all." When the hunters returned, they were led to the sanctuary for the worship of the night entitled "Happy The Home". Susie Fossum and Ida Mae Walkington led the group in this meaningful service of song, scripture and sermonette. A brain-teasing game was played to tax and test the minds of the mothers, and it was found out that they know quite a bit, since they beat out vail but one of the kids. Refreshments were served by Susie and Ida Mae. The M.Y.F. benediction closed a beautiful, fun-filled evening spent with our mothers. Honorable mention goes to Mr. Baker, our adult advisor, Ladies Meet Tonight The Ladies of the Lake will convene tonight at 8 p.m. in the beachhouse. Under discussion will be the forthcoming annual rummage sale to be held Saturday, May 23, at the beach. Helen Lorch will head the committee.
