Otto Kerner has announced. t "We expect this plan, whicli is identical to one that has existed between Illinois, Iowa and Missouri since February of 1962 to add some millions of dollars to our state revenue," Gov. Kerner said. "Taxes collected through the Illinois, Iowa and Missouri compact have bolstered our state revenue as much as $8 million a year." the governor said. "This represents money that previously had been escaping the state." The new plan serves the same purpose as the initial one between Iowa and Migsouri to avoid difficulties that arise in border areas of the neighboring states where there has been confusion as to sales and use tax liability because of multi-tax situations. The cooperative plan was adopted after a series of meetings attended by revenue officials of the three states. \ One American playing card manufacturer make? 62 kinds of marked cards, and 74 kinds of loaded dice. /? 9 ervice L^ompanu 5 LITTLE 6IL COME TO OUR ELECTRIC OPEN HOUSE THIS SUNDAY (May 24) - 2 to 6 p.m. . . «atour LAKE DISTRICT H'dqriisrtiTs Route - 31 Vi Mile N@f#io of Route 76 Crvstd We're proud of our new "home" and we look forward to your being our guest ... to meeting and talking with you this Sunday afternoon.
