Window service and rural service will remain the same. Window service Monday through Friday is from 8 a.m. td 4:30 p.m. On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Lobby hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. On Saturdays lobby closing time is 4:30 p.m. Rural Mailbox Improvement Week May 18 to 23. is mailbox improvement week. The purpose of this* is to call attention tfr the need for providing mail receptacles which are conveniently located, neat in appearance, safe to use, and which protect the mail from the weather. Boxes and supports should be kept painted and free from rust. The name of the owner should be shown on the side of the box visible to the carrier as he approaches, or on the door where boxes are grouped. Pa.trons are asked to group boxes wherever this is practicable. Mailboxes must be located on the right-hand side of the road in the direction of the carrier wherever it would be dangerous to serve the boxes on the left. Mailboxes must be the correct height to enable the carrier to conveniently place the mail in the box from his vehicle. Install Officers Installation of officers will be held at the meeting of the Christian Mothers Society of ; St. Peter's on Thursday evening, May 21. Services will be in church at 6:30 p.m. at which ! time new members will be en- ' rolled. A pot-luck supper will i be served before meeting. New officers to be installed are Mrs. Evelyn May as vice-president; Mrs. Carol Brown, treasurer. Communion Breakfast A ham and egg breakfast was served the ladies of St. Peter's parish last Sunday by members of the Holy Name Society. Following the meeting cards were played and refreshments served. Birth A daughter, Cheryl Lynn, weighing 7 lbs., 5 ozs. was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Smith of Milwaukee, Wis. on Friday, May 8, at St. Mary's hospital. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hildinger of Lindenhurst and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Smith of Spring Grove. Boy Scouts Parents Night The Boy Scouts entertained their parents at St. Peter's hall on Wednesday night. A film on scouting was shown. Talks were given on the Camporee that all area Boy Scouts took part in. Those parents who attended found this a most interesting evening. Leonard Busch and Mrs. Amelia Busch of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walker and family of Silver Lake, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Elfman and Yvonne of Richmond; Mr. and Mrs. John Vierke; Mr. and Mrs. Phil Rinda and children, the Jim Busch and Leon Busch families. MILK PRICES The April milk price to be paid producers on the Chicago market is $3.48 per cwt. for 60 percent of each farmer's deliveries and $3.39 per cwt., the market order price, for 40 percent of deliveries, it was announced today by Harry L. Edwars, director of marketing for Pure Milk association. The $3.48 price includes a 9-cent superpool premium. This premium is part of a year-around pricing program announced by Federated Dairy Cooperatives, the superpool bargaining agent for Chicago market dairy farmers. Pack Meeting The Cub Scouts held their last pack meeting at the home of Marge and Jack Connell on a recent Friday evening. The theme of the meeting was the First Americans, The Red Blooded Indians. If you though^ you saw a few Indians headed for (he Pow Wow, that was it. The skits were all based on Indians, and the boys made their own costumes, complete with head-bands, vests, shields and tomahawks. Tom Weyland, from Villa Vaupell, was welcomed into the pack and presented with his Bobcat pin. Awards were given to the following boys: Jimmy McWilliams, gold arrow; Ed Krysiak, assistant denners stripe; Jimmy Haufe, gold and silver arrow; and Gary Connell, denners stripe and silver arrow. Watch For The Olympics Sympathy Words cannot express the heartfelt sympathy extended to the Nelson family on the death of Gunnar's dad, Sigurd Nelson. He died Wednesday, May 13, of a heart attack. Burial was at Ridgewood cemetery on Saturday, May 16. We extend also our deepest sympathy to Mickey Walters and her family on the death of ,her mother. Mrs. Ellen Wright. Mrs. Wright, who lived in Pittsburg, Pa., had been ill for some time with cancer. Mickey has made several trips to and from Pittsburg to help care for "her mom and was with her there at the time of her death on May 7. Birthday Parties On Thursday, May 7, Brad Schmitt celebrated his fifth birthday with a party for his many friends. Gathered at the Schmitt home to enjoy the festivities were Wayne Wemken, Scott Musolf, Roger and Nanette Mroz, Billy and Regina B.iird,. Tommy Lundelius, Billy /Mahon, Jimmy Gilbert and Brad's brother and sister, and Mary Beth. Helping out at the party were Patty Baird and Connie Gilbert. Bemls Lorraine Bemis was 39 (that is what she said, and I have to report the news the way I get it) on May 12. The arts and crafts committee from the Island Lake Woman's Club met at Lorraine's home to make favors for their luncheon Coming up soon, so Lorraine prepared and served the girls lunch instead of the usual coffee and, in honor of her birthday. Rushed To Hospital What started out being a cold followed by an upset stomach, ended in being rushed to the hospital and emergency surgery for Ed Janik. Ed was rushed to the hospital on Friday, May 8, underwent tests and was sent up for emergency surgery on Monday, May 11. It took -^several days, £ but at the last report he wa> feeling a little better, and I hope by now he's a whole Jot? better.
