Ziel, Nancy Sue Ziesk, Michael £imny, Carol Ann Zriny, Steve CARLA 'DIETZ WINNER OF ELKS TOP SCHOLARSHIP A young McHenry high school graduate, Carla Dietz, was winner of the Elks club of Woodstock first place scholarship presented at a dinner meeting last Thursday night. Miss Dietz won a $75 bond and a compact for her prize. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dietz. Presentations were made by ,Ed. Hall, exhalted ruler of the club. The address of the evening was given by Eugene Maxwell, principal of Woodstock high school. Mel IN &Y DRIVER HURT IN WEEKEND HOLIDAY CRASH (Continued from Page 1) tried to pass Treptau to avoid a collision but pulled back when he saw an approaching car. He added that he failed to see any brake lightis on the first car. William J. Falbo of Melrose Park, in the third car, attempted to avoid a collision with Loser and travelled into the ditch, hitting a telephone pole. Treptau was ticketed for not having brake lights. Joseph Box of 903 W. Blvd., Lilymoor, was hurt on May 27 in an accident that resulted in fatal injuries to a Mundelein resident. Howard Biederer, 44, of Mundelein, a passenger in an auto driven by William Cox of Chicago was pinned underneath the car and killed. Another passenger, Patricia Day of Mundelein was treated in Condell Memorial hospital along with Cox and Box. Box was driving north on Rt. 83 when his car and one driven by William Cox of Chicago collided at the intersection of Holly road and both cars went into a ditch. Three drivers escaped injury in a three-car crash which occurred at 10:20 o'clock Sunday night at the intersection of Rt. 120 and Kent road, east of McHenry. Roy Peterson, 17, of McHenry was treated in Memorial hospital after his car rolled over on Wright road, south of McHenry, about 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Peterson was reported to have been travelling east and lost control on some gravel. He was cited for purchase or acceptance of alcohol as a minor and for not having a driver's license. In a minor accident on Saturday, Gerald Peschke of McHenry and Jackson Ahlberg of Berwyn collided at the intersection of Rt. 12 and the Johnsburg- Wilmot road. Late Friday afternoon, in Woodstock, Henry Steig of rural Woodstock struck the parked car of David Boyle of McHenry. Planes, nowdays, are refueled in flight.
