"l)rar Sir: "Fifty-five liens have been filed against property owners in Lakeland Shores Unit 3 subdivision by the Lakeland Park Property Owners association, because, they withdrew, from this organization and of course did not pay dues to them, specifically because they were no! operating in the best interests of these property owners and whiclv was called to their attention before they withdrew enmasse, leaving them with the alternative now of trying to force these taxpayers to how to their dictatorial procedures. Most have vowed they never again will become members of this association as it now is constituted, especially since they now have their own organization. "The land contracts for deed in the hands of most of the property owners in no part indicates that they were compelled to became members of an association formed in Lakeland Park. "It is also of some significance lhat 111 liens were placed against property owners in subdivisions other than Lakeland Shores Unit 3 which lies south of Rt. 120, at the same time as the fifty-five liens placed against the nonmembers of the Lakeland Shores Unit 3 subdivision. "This association we do not want to belong to now is prepared to force us to pay membership dues. Most of the peopie will not be forced, will fight, and will say that the Keller, of the property did not specifically mention any property owners' association in Lakeland Park that they agreed to join. It is that simple. "We are now being forced to •witness a carnival sponsored by this association to operate in this subdivision for four days this month although we objected vigorously to our township supervisor. This space they are permitted to operate on is too small and adjacent to residential property and no toilet facilities for this type enterprise. "How much must the people in this subdivision submit to? "Citizens Committee Lakeland Shores Unit No. 3 "R. C. Smith. <3 "Ann Hirshberg" SEWERAUE REFERENDUM "To Voters and Taxpayers of McCullom Lake Village: "Be informed other than by the letter sent by the village officers on the sewerage bond issue to be voted on Saturday, June 13. The figure they give is approximately $286,000 but nowhere do they tell you about the 35 per cent interest you will have to pay on this loan. This will raise the debt to $360,450 with that $19,000 federal aid deducted. Add this and all other costs, it's going to cost you plenty. "We have no serious trouble as yet and for the few people who have problems they can take care of their own. "Why should we all pay for the few? Most of our people are retired and on a fixed income. Also those with family obligations and low incomes in this county cannot afford it. So get out and vote against this big tax raiser or pay until it hurts. We surely can wait a few more years and come up with a better deal for all concerned. "Your friend and neighbor "Eugene Piotrowski "4917 W. Because it is an organization of ex-servicemen, what could be more appropriate? .Unfortunately, ex-servicemen as the rest of us, are susceptible to lesser considerations, (such as which day of the week is July 4?).
