Several Wonder Lakers are among the group who will be leaving Sunday for a summer in France. These are 1964 graduates from the high schools who have met the requirements. I don't have all their names but they were all printed in a feature story last week. Also, leaving on Saturday will be Stan, Harriet and Ruth Wilson and Harriet's sister, Gladys Moreton. They are going to England for their vacation and will attend the wedding of Harriet's niece at which Ruth will be bridesmaid. I hope to have more about their trip later. Women's Auxiliary Meeting The next meeting of the Wonderview Women's auxiliary will be Thursday, June 18, at 8 p.m. at the home of Viola Borta at 8203 Gersen Drive. Membership in the auxiliary is open to all ladies of the subdivision who are members of the Wonderview Improvement Association. Congratulations To Mr. and Mrs. Otto Menolasino on the birth of a baby girl, Carol Jean, who was born June 9 at Harvard hospital. The young lady weighed in a 8 lbs, 1 oz. Two sisters and a brother are on hand at home to welcome their new sister. They are Robert, Cindy and Susan. New Neighbors A cordial welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reicher who recently moved to Wonderview from Chicago. Camping Trip Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Borta will celebrate their twelfth wedding anniversary by taking their five youngsters on a camping trip for a few days to Whitewater, Wis. Election of Officers At Meeting On June 6 the Wonderview Improvement Association Unit I held an election of officers to hold 3 year terms. Those elected were Delmar Borta, president; Arthur Meyers, vice president; Irene Menolasino, secretary; Viola Borta, assistant secretary; Clara Meyers, treasurer and J. Brusted, trustee. It is hoped that everyone will give their fullest cooperation to these new officers during their term of office. Wonderview Women's Club A meeting of the Wonderview Women's Club was held on June 11. The Club was pleased to welcome Marianne Garvey, Barbara Luck and Clara Meyers as new members. Placed on the inactive membership list were Frieda Jean, Tillie Wells, Louise Buss and Josephine Luciano. The group made plans for their August Moon Hop which will be held at the American Legion hall in McHenry August 8, from 8-12 p.m. Se members for tickets. My Apologies Someone called me last Monday morning (before my eyes were fully open) to ask if I had found their news notes which they said they put in the news box on Sunday. If I'd had my wits about me I would have at least asked who it was so I could call them back--but as I said--I don't wake up until around ten in the morning even tho I get up at six and start work at eight. Anniversary Congratulations To Mr. and Mrs. Wally Rocheford who celebrated their wedding anniversary last Saturday. I don't know which one it was. Also, to Martha and Rudy Kreutz who celebrated their twenty-fifth with a wonderful party at the Legion hall. According to reports--"everything was just perfect." for the past week from the seminary to visit his mother, Alice Condren, and also to attend the wedding of his niece, Jean Schell, in Mt. Prospect last Saturday. He plans to return to the Seminary this coming week. Indellcato's Children Home For Visit Brother Landrick Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Indelicato of Wonder Woods, stopped off to visit his parents for a few days last weekend on his way to California. He received a science grant to University of California at Los Angeles and will spend 12 weeks there working for his degree. In September he will go to Minneapolis where he will teach at De- LaSalle high school. He formerly taught at Xavier high school in Appleton, Wis. Oh Tuesday, June 9, Sister Joan Clare, daughter of the Indelicatos, visited her parents for the day. She was accompanied by two companion sisters. They spent the day at a picnic on the beach and all enjoyed the day very much. Sister Joan Clare teachps seventh grade at St. Angela's in Chicago. Klwanls News - June 8th Meeting We had a pleasant visit by Past Lt. Gov. Floyd Eckert of Woodstock. Art Stuhlfeier's wife will receive the Battle-Axe Letter, not the award. St. Mary's Students Award Winners Two Wonder Lake residents received awards at the graduation ceremonies, June 7, at the 8 a.m. Mass Janice Mendyk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mendyk, of Indian Ridge and William Wines, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wines of Wooded Shores received their diplomas from St. Mary's, in McHenry. Janice received second award for effort and cooperation, and Bill received honor of the American Legion award from the McHenry Post No. 491. Wonder Lake Garden Club News President Mrs. Wielock called the meeting to order at the home of Mrs. Helen Muchow on Thursday evening, June 12. The following members were present: Mrs. Carder, Mrs. Fiala, Mrs. Gillette, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Kopp, Mrs. Mac Eachren, Mrs. Rose Murphy, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Ottoson, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Wendt, Mrs. Wielock and the hostess for the evening, Mrs. Muchow. Mrs. Carder had two guests namely Mrs. Strojny and Mrs. Unwin and we were most happy to have them in our midst. Mrs. Strojny reported that the mothers and children appreciated our efforts in decorating the Harrison school for the graduating class of 1964. Where not one member has children in or of school age, we are most happy to do this for them because we all have the children at heart at all times both for the sake of education and the recreation in which they are involved A lot of business was taken care of at the meeting. We spoke of the bulbs we have planted and the results so far. This was very interesting. Our planned trip to Springfield was cancelled out because we could not get our quota for the bus. Too many graduations and weddings going on. Come September we are going to try to make it. This would be a most interesting trip and I would like to go at that time. After our meeting was adjourned, Mrs. Muchow served strawberry short cake, cookies SPRING NEWS EVA FREUND 678-7185 FAREWELL PARTY HONORS TEACHERS AT GRADE SCHOOL Wednesday everting, May 27 members of the PTA gave a farewell party for the teachers of Spring Grove elementary school. Mrs. Ruby Larsen and Mrs. Helen Infield were presented,. with over night cases. Anthony Wilger, teacher, and Mr. Infield, janitor, received sweaters. The seventh and eighth grade pupils also gave them personal gifts. Cards were played and a lunch was served. Mrs. Ben Winn that afternoon, who were celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
