All food is to be at the community house by 4:30 p.m. Little League Meeting We certainly hope that there is a good turnout for the Little League meeting which meets at the community house on Wednesday, June 24, right after the baseball game. This is your boy's baseball club so why don't you do your part by coming out to these meetings once a month. Boy Scout Troop 459 A week ago last Monday ottr Boy Scout Indian dance team put on their show before Troop 57 of Arlington Heights. About 200 parents and Scouts were a very responsive audience. All tho Scouts and adults who had gone were treated to refreshments by the mothers of the troop in Arlington Heights. Driving our boys out were the Drumls, Kamps, Bartos, Eckharts and Ketchums. Any one who cares to donate crepe paper, (green or brown is preferred,) for our float in the Fiesta day parade can do so by giving it to a Scout from tbp troop or by contacing Bette Kamp at 385-3070, it will be greatly appreciated. For reservations and cancellations please call Jo Rizzo 385- 2728 Woman's Club Meeting A nice turn-out at Woman's club last Thursday made for a very successful meeting. Vickie Bottari, president, announced the projects for the coming year. The first of course was the smorgasbord coming up this Saturday night with Toots Gerstad heading the committee. In the fall we hope to have another fashion show and Petey Oakford accepted that chairmanship. The snowball dance will be on Dec. 5 and Arlene Bartos is ad book chairman and Delores Rogers is the well wisher chairman. In February a bake sale is planned and in April we are planning a luncheon and hat sale combined. If all of these projects turn out we should have a most profitfable and enjoyable year. Edna Hountras is our new Sunshine lady, taking over for Dee Frazier who has done a wonderful job. After our meeting Jo Rizzo and her committee put on a little skit for us. The title was commencement exercises from Hog Waller School and the graduates were Arlene Yodeler (Bartos), Jo Hopeless (Rizzo), Dolores Actress (Rogers), Ruth Whiner (Roach), Margo Twitcher (Schaedel), and Victor Delinquent (Bottari), with Bertha Rutabaga ((Lyda Radisch) the teacher. The graduates all did a very good job saying their pieces. We ended the evening with coffee and cake. Little League Games And Schedule Our Little League season began a week ago Monday with the Pirates defeating the Orioles by a score of 5 to 2. Tuesday saw thie Cubs defeat the Braves, 15 to 8. On Wednesday the Sox won over the Tigers with a 14 to 3 score. Thursday's game had the Orioles defeating the Cubs with a 16 to 12 score.-Friday's game was a real thriller with the Braves coming out the victors over the Tigers with a 6 to 5 score. On Sunday team pictures were taken between the two games. Mick Daurio, Bill Eckhart, Dennis and Kevin Druml of our Boy Scout Troop presented colors while the Star Spangled Banner was played. President of Little League, Ted Kaminski acted as M.C. and introduced all managers .who in turn introduced their coaches and players. There were many parents, relatives ahd friends watching the games but there is plenty of room for more spectators, so come on Moms, Dads, and residents let's get down to the beautiful little league field and watch a few games. Get-Well Wishes are going to David Wagner who has an infected hand and to Kenny George who was quite ill last week, and to Lorraine Pike who is recovering from an infection. Hope Aloise Gort's knee is better when he reads this. Mrs. Schnell is also on the list of people not up to par. Ken Vanek is in a Chicago hospital for observation. We both hope Donna Rode has gotten over the measles. Two of our Little League catchers had rapid trips to the emergency room at McHenry hospital Sunday. Kenny Becker is the victim of a briused hand from first game and Kevin suffered a badly sprained finger in the first inning of the second game. Hope they are both able to play this week's games and to each of you we've mentioned and to all who are ^suffering from spring colds and flu goes our very best wishes for speedy recoveries. Strolling Through The Park Visiting Rose and Ed Oswald on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Werner of Chicago. Mrs. Werner is Mrs. Oswald's sister. On Sunday Barb and Joe Herman who are life long friends and from Evanston also enjoyed the same things that the Werners enjoyed on the day before. Danny Kamp and Howard Wagner attended the Sox game last Thursday. This was St. Mary's reward to all their faithful altar boys for their services to the church for the past year. We've been told that Harold Cygan enjoys Little League, he put on a Tiger's uniform and Was willing to play. Harold's age being more than Little League rules permit he'll have to settle for being "Young at Heart". Tommy Daurio had a day long celebration for his sixth birthday last Friday. Attending his very nice party were Eddie Peters, Danny Peters, Bobby Moore, Vincent Linnane, Kent Butler, Kathy Morgan, Mary and Margie Becker and Tom's brother, Jimmy. In the evening Arlene, Frank, Mark and Greg Bartos along with Kay, Ed, Dennis and Kevin Druml finished off Tommy's day and his delicious cake. Marge, Carl, Karen, Debbie and Tony Elshoff spent two days of last week in Springfield. They brough their niece back to spend the week with them. Mick Daurio and Mark Bartos are spending this week at Marmion Abbey in Aurora. They left on Sunday and will return on Friday. Sure hope that David Wagner's badly infected right hand is much improved by this time. Dave fell on a thorn and has had several doctor's visits, shots and pills and is still in considerable pain. Hurry and get well Dave your team missed you. Bev, Jim and the Wickenkamp children spent the weekend visiting Bev's sister in Minneapolis. They are due to return as we write the column so we hope they had a wonderful trip. About 100 members of the class of 1954 attended with their families. Identification pictures were taken which made remembering names much easier. Prizes vyere awarded to the alumni who came the farthest which was from the state of New Jersey. Six children won a prize for the largest family and the newest baby award went to a brand new mother of Monday. Margo's sister, Wilma Hinrichs, and her husband of DesPlaines also attended. Wilma was a graduate with Wally and the Hinrichs are former residents of Lakeland Shores. The class is planning a 20 year reunion and hope it will be as enjoyable as their 10 year reunion was. Shirley, Max and the Koch children visited with Shirley's folks, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Meilahn, for several days last week. They had a very chilly visit on Wednesday at Brookfield Zoo and spent another day visiting with Shirley's grandmother, Helen Plante, her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Plante, of Oak Park. Mike (Miss Ariierica) Hamer is visiting with the Prazak family until the Vaneks move out here the end of this month. Dottie, Irv and the four Becker youngsters attended the graduation party of Pam Meyer in Mt. Prospect on Sunday. Pearl and Walter Jensky are smiling extra large smiles these days. They once again became grandparents, Richard James Jensky was born on June 8 and weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. Richard's home is in Gien Ellyn and he has foUr older brothers. Young Richard also has greatgrandparents in Germany.
