These who graduated on Thursday evening from McHenry high school were Elyse Falsetti, Michael Noonan and Lynn and Hugh Saynor. On Friday evening graduating with the McHenry junior high school class were the following: Kathleen Eternick, phillip Krebs, Barbara Kuck, Beth Saynor, Michael Stuart and Karen Wilms. Congratulations and best wishes to all of you. To those of you who are either going on to college or stepping out into the business world, may God bl<?ss you and may your every step be one step higher on the ladder of success. To the younger set who are going to further your education, good luck, God bless you, and work hard your four years in high school. Eastwood Manor Teen Club News At the regular business meeting of May 25, there were fourteen members and two guests present. Final plans were made for the dance which was held on May 29. Details for the trip to the stock car races in Wilmot, Wis., on June 13 were arranged and also further discussion was held in regard to the "fleet project". After the business meeting was adjourned, birthday cake and pop were ser ved in honor of three of the teen club members. They were Keith Butler, Dale Haldeman and Alice Weirich. Also honored in this birthday celebration was Mrs. Moore, the teens counselor, whose birthday was also in May. A twist contest was held and the two couples who took joint honors were: Alice Weirich with Gene Tinkler, and Bill Butler with Roxanne Fuson, all of Eastwood Manor. Chaperones for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Mr. Richard Hawkins, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woodbury. A special meeting was held on Monday, June 1, in order to get the details for the float project under way. A theme was voted on, and a committee of five volunteered to draw up the plans. The volunteers are: Sterling Weirich, Bill Butler, Sue Betke, Skip Bauers and Dennis Moore. This committee met to combine their ideas at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 8, at the barn. There were fifteen members present at this special meeting and special guests were Mrs. Pat Borcovan, Richard Weigman and Mrs. Marilyn Salo. As this project will take a good deal of time and work, Mrs. Salo and Mrs. Borcovan have volunteered their time and services along with Mr. and Mrs. Moore for adult supervision. Mrs. Salo will act as their chief adviser. E.M.P.O.A. News There were only twelve families represented at the regular monthly meeting which was held on May 15. This isn't a very good percentage, but despite the small turnout, a good deal was accomplished. A community soft-ball team was suggested and further details will be discussed at the next meeting. So all you ball players come on out and get your suggestions in at the next meeting. Thanks are extended to Mr. Messer, chairman; and the members of his committee for t he very successful job they did on the fund-raising social which was held in April. The next regular business meeting will be held at the barn, at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 19. The association needs your support, so please make a special effort to attend, there are no membership dues. Your ideas and suggestions are what we need. Around The Manor This has been a very hectic week at our house, with three graduations. On Thursday we attended the McHenry high school commencement exercises to see our two oldest, Hugh and Lynn, received their diplomas. Besides the family the children's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lappeneit of Lorn bard, and Mrs. Rick of Elmhurst were in attendance. Friday evening we attended the graduation exercises of the junior high school where our daughter Peth received her diploma. My mother, Mrs. Rick of Elmhurst, attended also. On Sunday we held "open house" for our three graduates. All the family and friends who could not attend the graduation exercises were present. Those who attended wer: Mr. and ^Irs. Victor Kuchera and family of Elmhurst, Mrs. C. Ward and sons and four of their young friends of Maywood, Mrs. Norman Rick of Wheaton, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lappeneit of Lombard, Mrs. C. Rick of Elmhurst, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Delgatte and sons of Lombard. Saturday the Elwyn Eternick family went to Milwaukee to visit Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eternick. On Friday evening the Walter Kuck family attended Barbara's graduation from McHenry junior high school. Bill Kuck of Wonder Lake and Carol and Bobby Weyde of Lake Zurich also attended. Cake and coffee was served after. Saturday evening Walt and Eleanor attended the dinner and dance for the power squadron members who had attended the seamanship school. Sunday the Kucks held "open house" for all the family and friends who were not able to attend Barbara's graduation.
