The meeting will be held at the community house. It is hoped that there will be a good turnout because, of course, the roads are a major concern to all residents and this is one way of being informed of what is going to happen to them. Let's back our association by showing up at this special meeting. See you there. Belated Wedding Anniversary Wishes go to Helen and Joe Gerambio who celebrated their twenty- second wedding anniversary on June 28. May you have many more years of happiness, together. Our Best Wishes are extended to the following residents who celebrate birthdays and anniversaries during this coming week. Sharing the 4th of July are Michael Kreutz who will be 8 and Debbie Benes who will be 5. On the 5th that real nice gal Gloria Flannigan blows out another candle and Bob Laursen admits to voting age on the 6th. Chuckie will be 10 on the 8th. A belated birthday wish is extended to Guenther Borchert who celebrated on the 27 th. it Many Accidents And Illnesses In the past three weeks seems that our community has been having more than its share of accidents and illness. Our list was a long one last week and seems equally as long this week and these are only the ones we happen to hear about. Pauly Rogers, that cute Little Leaguer who plays for the Cubs, had a broken wrist, not a sprained one as we reported last week, but that was only the beginning. He fell the following day and broke his other arm. That's quite a blow to a lad who likes to play ball. Margie (No Doze) Becker fell last Monday just before the awful storm and had to have a suture put in the back of her head. Frankie Vanek and Sharon Wagner both had to have a shot during the last week, one stepped on a rusty nail and the other was scratched by rusty fencing. Dennis Druml suffered a very bad sprain to his index finger last Sunday and was unable to play ball all week. Mrs. Baumgartener fell and suffered a broken hip and is still in the hospital. Debbie George fell and has a broken wrist. Mike (Miss America) Hamer is a victim of the mumps and will be missed by his fellow Little League teammates for a few weeks. Another Little Leaguer, Chuckie Fernstrom, is in the University of Illinois hospital for eye surgery scheduled for tomorrow. A fall from his bike after playing' in his Little League game had Robby Wohrtrade having several sutures along with chipped ribs and a concussion. We're glad to report that John Mueller and John Bernard are both out of the hospital. Jody Osman has been a victim of the measles. Bobby Hromec has been plagued by swollen glands and a bad ear infection. Virginia Hodges is now home but still can't get around too much. Helen Strandquist is in traction at Woodstock hospital af ter the automobile accident. Helen sustained a whip lash and many torn muscles and is in considerable pain. Helen's husband, Larry, and "Petey" Oakford, who were Helenas passengers, are still under doctor's care. Little Meg Oakford was also a passenger. Rich Wohnrade spent the first day of his vacation playing basketball and is spending the rest of his vacation in an uncomfortable position <lue to a badly sprained ankle. ^ We sincerely hope that each and everyone of you mentioned and all the residents we don't hear about are up and about by the time we do our column next week. Little League News Once again the weather man won out over the scheduled Sox and Pirates game last Monday. Tuesday saw the Orioles defeat the Tigers with a 14 to 5 score. On Wednesday the Sox defeated the Braves with a 16 to 5 tally and on Thursday the Cubs had 16 runs to the Pirates 3. The week ended with the Sox beating the Tigers with a 11 to 9 score. This week's games are Thursday, July 2, Cubs vs. the Tigers, on Friday the 3rd the Braves and Orioles meet. Monday, July 6 has the Pirates and Braves, Tuesday the Sox and Cubs and on Wednesday the Pirates take on the Tigers. Let's hope each of the games draw great crowds. The Little League is to attend the Sox baseball game on August 8 and each boy who plans on attending MUST have 50c into his manager before July 20. The League will need two buses this year and the very small fee of 50c is to help cover some of the bus expense. The managers now have a copy of the team pictures that were taken on opening day and they can be obtained by order only. Each picture must be paid for in advance also to team managers, and before July 20. cellations of the Community house, please, contact Jo Rizzo at 385-2728. The only reservation for the coming week is on Tuesday, July 7, at 8 p.m. for Boy Scout Troop 459. They are wishr ed nothing but the very best in their new home and we hope they'll drop in to say "Hello" when they come back to visit with Marge's relatives. Qqe of Marge's last bits of newsro us was that her brother who owns a service station had come out to say goodbye to them and ran out of gas and had to obtain the necessary petro from one of his competitors, that's about par for the course.
