HASKELLS RETURN FROM WEDDING TRIP Following their wedding at Nativity Lutheran church, iWonder Lake, June 11, Mr. and "Mrs. A. Cabot Haskell spent a leisurely honeymoon driving to Canada, New Hampshire, and to Dper Isle, Maine, where they visited with Mr. Haskell's relatives. From there they travelled- to Greenwich, Conn., to visit friends and spend some time at the World's Fair in New York. Mrs. Haskell is the former Lillian Taylor of McCullom Lake. The Haskells expect to make their official residence at McCullom Lake .but will spend the winter months in Palm Beach, Fla., and the summer in Stanford, Conn. .MUSICAL COMEDY TRY-OUTS j Ann Varese and Company /will be hplding try-outs for singing, dancing and acting roles in their fall production of the Broadway musical comedy, "Annie Get Your Gun", to be held at the Lake theatre in Crystal Lake, Sept. 17, 18 and 19 at 8:30 p.m. Tryouts will be at the McHenry high school auditorium July 8 and 9 from 7:30 'til 10 p.m. An accompanist will be provided and performers should bring their own music or record. Anyone wishing to be a part of this production in any way--backstage work, artists, set construction, wardrobe or make-up--will be welcome to attend try-outs and sign up. A Laugh 1 in Air Force base church in Del Rio, Texas, was the setting for a lovely July wedding on Saturday. the Fourth, at 10 o'clock when Miss Pamela Munroe became the bride of Second Lieut. Mark Vycital. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Munroe of 3008 W. Still Hill Drive, McHenry, and the gloom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vycital of 3413 Waukegan Road, McHenry. The altars were decorated for the occasion with bouquets of summer flowers. Pretty Miss Munroe selected a white silk organza over taffeta, floor length gown, styled with short sleeves and the waist trimmed with embroidered lace and seed pearls. A heart-shaped headpiece with bow in back was trimmed with lilies of the valley and pearls. Falling from it was a bouffant illusion veil. She carried a cassade bouquet of stephanotis and gardenias. MiSs Marilyn Smith of Spring Grove road, Johnsburg, acted as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Sandra Igler of Chicago and Judith Meineke of McHenry. All were attired in gowns of coral silk organza with detachable overskirts, styled street length, sleevleSs, and with deep scoop neckline. They carried cymbidium orchids with ivy. Gary Vycital of McHenry served his brother as best man and groomsmen were First Lieut. Donald Kelly of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Second Lieut. Layne Windedahl of Del Rio, Texas. A reception followed the ceremony at the Officers' club on the base. Following a trip to San Antonia, the couple will make their home in Del Rio. Both young people are graduates of McHenry high school. The groom also graduated from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., with a BA degree in business administration. Johnson are now at home at Pistakee Bay following their wedding on Sunday, June 28, at 12 p.m. in Grace Lutheran church, Woodstock. The bride is the former Miss Judith A. Cummings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hauri of 8710 Shady Lane, Wonder Lake, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hunter of 4901 Crystal Lake Road, McHenry. The bride was attended by Mrs. Mary Cummings, her Sister- in-law, as matron of honor and Christine Cummings, a niece, as flower girl. McHENRY LISTS TOWN, COUNTRY ART SHOW ENTRIES Selected exhibits from McHenry county and all other counties in northern Illinois will be shown at a District Town and Country Art show July 6 to 17. The show will be held in the Fine Arts building tat Northern Illinois university in DeKalb. The gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on week rlays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The show is sponsored by the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service. Winners of this district show will be exhibited at the state show held at the University of Illinois Oct. 17 to 31. Mrs. Lorraine Rutzen 7-9-64 Connie Rudsinski, front center, was crowned McHenry County Dairy Princess at the annual McHenry County Dairy Promot ion Council banquet last week. . Appearances at the McHenry County Fair and on area television and radio programs are immediately ahead of Connie Rudsinski, McHenry 'county's beaming new Dairy Princess. Connie also will represent the McHenry County Dairy Promotion council in the statewide contest Aug. 26 at Oregon. The American Dairy Association of Illinois is sponsoring that event, and aspirants from around the state will seek the Illinois Dairy Princess title. Connie was crowned McHenry County Dairy Princess at the tenth anniversary banquet of the Dairy council last week. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rudsinski, the first representative from the Union area to gain the title. Connie was sponsored by the Federal Land Bank association of Woodstock. The girls made a television appearance last week and will be guests on Chicago and Rockford stations in the future. Connie will also preside over the milk punch bowl July 13 when her favorite refreshing drink is served the Miss McHenry County candidates, their sponsors and members of the press. Henry Edgerton, Dairy council secretary since coming to McHenry . county in 1947, served as master of ceremonies. Edgerton's full-time job is secretary of organization for the McHenry County Farm Bureau, but the Farm Bureau has been a vital force in the Dairy council's progress and in its leadership role of unifying all segments of the dairy industry in hard-hitting promotional work. Over 400 Attend The dairy banquet was a smashing success. Despite wonderful ticket sales, still more tables had to be set up after the banquet began. Russell Kelahan, chairman of the Dairy council, estimated almost 400 persons were present. The guests heard a good report on the progress of the Borden company's new building program from David D. Patterson, Public relations supervisor. Among the former County Dairy Princesses back especially for the event were Marilyn Lindvall Stork, 1954 and 1955; Dorothy Olbrich, 1959; Jeannette Seaman, 1960; Patricia Hogan, 1961; Marge Zarnstorff Otto and Kathy Curran, 1962; and Midge Olbrich Roach and liosalynn Rehorst, 1963. Miss Rehorst handled the crowning ceremonies, assisted by Kelahan. Miss Rudsinski was sponsored in -the county contest by the Federal Land Bank Association of Woodstock. Connie, 17, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rudsinski. State Princess Present Cheryl Smith, ADA of Illinois Dairy Princess, extended greetings to the guests and congratulated McHenry county on its aggressive dairy product promotion activities. Another good ffiend of McHenry county dairymen, Avery Voss -- head of the four-state Pure Milk association •-- was present for this tenth anniversary affair. Kelahan recalled the Dairy council was formed to unite the promotional efforts and budgetary availabilities of the entire dairy industry in McHenry county -- the producer, wholesaler, distributor and retailer. A special souvenir program given each guest recalled highlights of the Dairy council's ten-year effort and presented an insight into the activities carried out.
