COOKS CORNER by Marie Sohaettgen There Is no end to the usefulness of a good sandwich filling recipe, especially in picnic weather. This recipe has appeared in this column before, but perhaps some one might like to try it again. Ham Salad Sandwiches 1 lb. boiled Viam 4 or 6 hard-cooked eggs 8 or 10 medium ^veet pickles 4. 1 small can pimientos (drained) Mayonnaise Chop (do not grind) ham in large bowl. Leave it rather coarse, add pickles and chop slightly again. Add eggs and pimientos and chop once more. Blend well. Add undiluted mayonnaise. Mixture may be refrigerated overnight if necessary-- in which case do not add mayonnaise until ready to spread on bread. Use only enough mayonnaise to moisten but not wet the mixture. Equally good on white, whole wheat or rye bread. In fact add variety by making some sandwiches of each kind. This recipe will make twelve well-filled sandwiches and may be spread thinner for more sandwiches. Slice diagonally and wrap each sandwich individually in wax or plastic bags. Make several combinations of half sandwiches with different kinds of bread. If the picnic is called off because of rain, use the ham mixture on toasted white or whole wheat bread at home.
