A Housewarming Party The new rafters were ringing last Saturday night in the home of Henry Andrews at Walnut and Balsam Drives. He has just had his home completely remodelel and he invited all his friends over for a real old fashioned housewarming. I understand they were a real heel-kicking, swinging group, and everyone had a wonderful time. Present were: Mr. and Mrs. Tony Divizio, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Timmons, the Pat Lodewycks, the Art Meyers, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Heuch, the Robert Hermeses, Roman Kemski, Vi and Del Borta, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vidovich and family. 80th Wedding Anniversary Party Virginia and Orville Tronson were guests of honor last Sunday at a surprise wedding anniversary party held in their honor to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary. School Chums Have Farewell Party About twenty-five girls gathered at the home of Leigh Perry in Wonder Lake last Friday evening for an all-night P. J. party. They were all girls who had gone through high school and graduated together last spring. Now they will all be going in many different directions in the next few weeks so this party was in the nature of a farewell party for* the girls. Some will be going to work and others will be going to colleges all over the country to further their education. One girl is leaving for two years study in Europe. How can such beautiful young ladies have such voracious appetites? I understand they consumed dozens and dozens of rolls, hotdogs, stacks of potato chips, pretzels and all the other trimmin's not to mention umpteen cases of pop and several cakes. Mom and Pop Perry were evicted for the night as was Mactavish the scotty. They spent the night wth Inez Krueger. When Ronnie arrived home next day all was serene and clean. Pop will be working, and you can have your luncheon served to you and you won't even have to do the dishes. American Legion Auxiliary News Thursday, Aug. 20 marked a new year for the American Legion auxiliary of Wonder Lake. Louise Senini, the new president, started out the new year with much enthusiasm and pep. Miss Linda Galles, the representative to Illinois Girls State at Springfield, read a summary of her visit there and it was so well done that one felt as though they themselves had attended. The business portion of the meeting was dispensed with and the discussion then turned to membership. Mothers, sisters, and wives of the men of the American Legion--where are you? Last year 136 men were members of the Legion and only forty-five were represented in the auxiliary; and of this forty-five -- only eleven were at the meetings. The meetings are the third Thursday of each month. How about it girls? If your husband, son or brother is a member of the Legion--why don't you join too. Give the active members a chance and help make the auxiliary the best in the county. It can only be as good as the people in it. Let's "COME ALIVE IN '65".
