Section Three -- Paqe Two TOT McHENRY PLAINDEALER Thursday/ ^epiember 17, 1384 1965 Chrysler Look Is Long And Low Chrysler cars for 1965 are completely new automobiles with a longer wheelbase, increased interior room, more powerful engines and improved riding comfort. Long and low, the 1965 Chrysler line consists of 17 models in three series--New Yorker, the Sports 300, including the 300L, and the Newport. This is the New Yorker two-door hardtop. All engines in the new Chrysler cars have refinements in carburetor control mechanisms, ignition systems and electrical components designed to extend reliability and provide quiet, trduble-free operation. Among the fresh styling features are extra side windows in the New Yorker and Newport four-door Town Sedans, both new models for 1965, giving them a total of six side windows. The 5-year or 50,000-mile warranty on engine and drive train components is continued on the 1965 Chrysler. NDER LAKE NEWS MARY LOU HARTOG 653-7176 Eastern Trip For Reporter I am sorry to be so stingy in the news department this week --but the truth is I haven't even been here. I have been in New York and New Jersey all week and therefore haven't been home to receive any news. By the time you read this I will probably be back--or will be by Friday. I will gather up all your little news items from the news box and turn them in next week. I just better find a goodly bunch of them in the box too. If not I'll talk about my vacation and that might be quite boring to anyone but me. Vacations With New Granddaughter Joseph "Bob" Kolar of Indian Ridge returned recently from a week long visit with his daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Pat Whalen, in Oceanside, Calif. Bob made the trip especially to meet his new granddaughter, Margaret Ann Marie, born August 13. During Grandpa's stay, Margey was baptised at Mission San Luis Rey (built in 1798 and largest of the old Indian Missions in California). Following family tradition, Margey wore the silk and lace baptismal gown made 57 years ago by her great "great grand-aunt and has since been worn by her grandfather, grand-uncle, uncle, mother, and cousin. While in California, Bob also enjoyed visiting with son, Bob, and his family in Anaheim. Kiwanis Meeting We had a hungry bunch and a good turnout for the Labor Day evening meeting. President Floyd reminded the delegates to the convention, Jim Robison, Bill Cristy, and Art Lau, to make sure their reservations were in. Jim Robison is going to present a program concerning the mentally retarded school at Wonder Lake, at the Crystal Lake interclub, therefore, five or six of our Kiwanians will accompany Jim to Crystal Lake. With the summer schedule over now, we are able to have outside programs again. Bob Myers was welcomed back to the club after a long sick leave. He thought he should be welcomed back as a newmember. Joan Higgins won the battle axe award. Because Frank remembered the meeting at the last minfite, Joan will receive a check. Joe Sullivan will conduct next Monday's program. Our deepest sympathy to Art Stuhlfeier in the death of his wife. Peanut Day is Sept. 25. Weekend Company Eleanor Dolan of Chicago was a house guest at the home of Bernice Jerls in Wonderview over the Labor Day weekend. Eleanor and Bernie have been friends and worked together for the past 10 years at two different companies. They attended the water ski show and made a tour of the lake area and Bernie reports her guest was very pleased with all she saw. We're glad you liked us and come back again. Labor Day Barbecue Over the Labor Day weekend,, Margaret Mahoney and Marcella Lucy of Oak Road gave a bar-b-q in honor of Cpl. James Palka, Jr., U.S. Army, who will be leaving soon for special assignment in Munich, Germany. Also attending the party were Cpl. Palka's girl, Agnes Marie of Elgin, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Palka, Sr., of Forest Park, Mr. and Mrs. William Mahoney, Sr., of Chicago and Palm Desert, Calif., and William Mahoney, Jr., of Glenview. Give it a try, at least you'll be with friends and if nothing else you can exchange "news?" with the girls. There's lots to do and it's only fun when done with friends, otherwise its called work. Without a Btroni; church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the church. They are: (I) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. Ml For the sake of his community and nation. (4) Fur the sake of the church itself, which needs his moral and material su;>|>ort.
