New Granddaughter For Smiths Leo and Mabel Smith became grandparents for the fifth time on Monday, Sept. 14. Their daughter and son-in-law presented them with a beautiful little granddaughter, Sherry Ann, who weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. at birth. Tom and Nancy Me- Auliffe of McHenry welcomed their newest addition at the McHenry hospital. Young Sherry Ann has two big brothers, Tommy and Danny. The boys were under the care of Leo and Mabel, and their uncle and aunt, the Bob Smiths, while Nancy was confined. We extend our very happy wishes to all concerned. Week Long: Visiting Pam Hiller returned home last weekend after spending a real nice week visiting with her mother in St. Paul. Stephanie stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Hiller so she could attend her second grade classes. Pam and her mother had a great deal to catch up on. I can well imagine Pam told her all the experiences she, Chuck and Stephanie had in San Francisco this past summer. All in all it was a good week for both. Congratulations Corner Belated wishes to Mary Jo Haag who celebrated her fourteenth birthday on Sept. 17. Also wishes come a little late to Hank and Clara Nell upon the occasion of their fortyfourth wedding anniversary which was Sept. 15. We all join in extending some very special. "Happy Birthday" wishes to Mrs, Catherine Klein. ' Mrs. Klein will turn 90 on 'Sept,. 30. Happy, happy wishes to all. Time Is Growing Short Yes, time is fleeting if you haven't made arrangements about attending the card party and luncheon sponsored by the Blessed Virgin Sodality. This will be held on Sept. 30 in the community club at noon. If you have to get a baby sitter, line her up now. This afternoon outing will do 'you a world of good besit^es helping our Good Sisters furnish their new home. All proceeds of this endeavor will be for the good cause of furnishing the| new convent which is just about ready for occupancy. Let 's all do our bit and really make j this event a HUGE, HUGE success. Nuptial Vows Exchanged One of the prettiest weddings as well as unusual, took place in St. John's church on the 12th of this month. Three sets of twins were in the bridal party of Janice May and Thomas Draffkorn. The bride and the groom both had their twins attending them as maid of honor . and best man.' The ring bearers were the bride's three year old twin nephews. I'll bet it will be a long, long time before something like this ever repeats itself. Following a honeymoon trip to Canada, the new Mr. and Mrs. Draffkorn will be at home in Crystal Lake. Our sincerest wishes for a most happy life together. More Happy News With the smell of the traditional orange blossoms still with us, I think this is a good time to extend our best wishes to Gerry Stilling and his future bride, Miss Nancy Buckner, of McHenry. Gerry slipped a beautiful sparkling diamond on Nancy's finger last week. The young couple have plans in the making for a July wedding. We hope all their plans turn out exactly as they both want. Parents Celebrate Anniversary Roger and Gloria Pechous and their three youngsters were among the family members present for the golden wedding celebration of his folks last Sunday. Although their actual date isn't until early next year, the children got together and celebrated while the senior Pechous' were visiting here from Pompano Be:ach. Fla. Back Home Again And what a good feeling it must be for Phil and Janice Bartmann. The young couple returned here from Missouri where he was stationed with the army. They are residing temporarily with his folks in McHenry until they locate themselves. Mrs. Bartmann is the former Janice Wakitsch. Everyone is so happy to see this couple back in our "neck of the woods" again. We hope that his work doesn't take him too far from here. Whatever their future plans are, we wish them success and happiness. . St. John's To Host Open House A committee under the leadership of the co-chairmen, Jerry Tobin and Roy Dube, ane working diligently on the last minute plans for the forthcoming open house at St. John's church. This will take plaoe on Oct. 11. from 2 to 4 in the afternoon.
