New chief counsellors are Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hagerup assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Gil Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Salo. Sept. 12 ihey had a very nice turnout for their first fall dtfnee. The teens got acquainted with their chaperones, Gil and Larry Moore, Carl and Edith Hagerup, and Ray and Marilyn Salo. Their next dance is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. at the barn. It will be a "Slop Hop." Last month the volunteers for mowing the lawn around the barn were Bill and Keith Butler and a fine job they did too. Volunteers for this period are June Fuson and Teresa Tinkler. The next regular business meeting is on Monday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. at the barn. Eastwood Manor Property Owner's Association You sure missed a lot of fun if you missed the E.M.P.O.A. sponsored picnic Sunday afternoon as all who attended had a grand time. There were games and prizes galore for kids in every age bracket. This is an annual affair and a wonderful chance to become acquainted with your neighbors and also to become re-acquainted with old friends after an eventful summer has gone by. Residing at 2312 Country Lane are Kenneth and Janice Kohl. They moved here fi'om Fox Lake. Kenneth is an operating engineer near Palatine. Both Kenneth and Janice enjoy golf and bowling. Golf is a recent sport for Janice but both have been on bowling teams. They have four small children; Diane, Kenneth. Leonard and Sherri. Kenneth and three of 1he four children all claim August birthdays Diane being a birthday present for her daddy in . '58! Leonard is the individualist in the family arriving on Sept. 2. Best wishes to all of you in your Eastwood Manor home. I know already you have found many friends. At 2304 Country Lane we meet the Tippett family who have lived here a year now. Richard is a truck driver for a beverage firm. June holds a full time job nearby as does their son, Butch. Both Richard and June like to bowl in their spare time. Their son, Bob. is 18 and in the U. S. Service stationed in Alaska. June is a pretty teen-ager of 15. Her sis, Roxanne, is a new teenager this year having just become 13 last March. Young Curtis is eight. Recently joining the family is their young aunt, and a favorite aunt I take it, Dolores Tippett, who is employed in a McHenry office. They are a fine family and we are all so glad to have them choose our subdivision for their permanent home. Dennis and Marge May are making 2305 Manor Lane their home. Both were originally McHenry people and came here via way of Wonder Lake. Dennis is a bookkeeper and parts man in a McHenry garage. He enjoys building things in the way of carpentry in his spare moments. Their pride and joy is pretty little Jeannette born May 17 th, 1963. Welcome and may you find every happiness here in our midst. Let's go to 2306 Manor Lane and visit Jerry and Betty King who moved here from Wonder Lake. They both hail from Pittsburg. Cub Scout News Rot tie Messer is Den 2's new den mother we are pleased to report. Their first meeting of the fall season began after school Wednesday. Sept. 16. Cub Scouts present were Jimmy Qual, Steve Congdon, Douglas Messer, and Chris Durkin. Visitors were Dean Bordin, David Messer and Dean Whitney. These boys will soon become members ot the den. At this meeting the boys were kept pretty busy as they made hot pads from tongue depressors and match holders and coasters from plastic tile. These items were made for the coming Pack meeting fair.
