Circle Drive. The meeting starts promptly at 8 p.m. The Christmas party for the children will be discussed. Please be on time or you may miss an important part of the meeting. Welcome This week we would like to welcome Sherri and Joe Graziano our new couple to the Terrace. Joe is a draftsman for a Mount Prospect firm and Sherri is a beautician. Joe and Sherri were married on Aug. 15 of this year and honeymooned in Wisconsin and Michigan. They are now making their home on Poplar Drive in the home formerly owned by Joe's Grandfather, Mr. Hinkleman. Cub Scouts The Cub Scouts of Den 4, toured the McHenry Plaindealer with their leaders, Mrs. Marilyn Wiggerman and Mrs. Joan Stull. These boys learned just how much it really takes to get the paper to their homes every week. The Scouts who toured were Scott and Mark Wiggerman, Jay Connerty, Bob, Roch and Butch Kennebeck, Greg Smith, Jim Phillips, Dennis Sisk and Scotty Stull. Helping the leaders were Mrs. Arlene Connerty who helped drive and baby sitting was Mrs. Harriett Phillips1! Christenings The two new Little Angels of the Terrace, Theresa Lynn Jakubicek and John Joseph Sabaj, were christened at St. John's last Sunday, Nov. 1. Terry Lynn's Godparents were Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Jakubicek of St. Louis, John's Godparents were Ray Schoenfield and Tony Rodrequez. After the ceremony at church each of the children were taken to their respective homes where a celebration was held. At the Jakubicek home were gathered Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kenzinger (Mary's folks) of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Jakubicek (Frank's folks) of Chicago; the Godparents Tony and Marge Jakubicek of St. Louis and the Garlinskis and children of Sunnyside, and of course the brother Frankie and sister Roseann, who were just delighted as co^&t-be with all the activity. ; The Sabaj house was bustling and brothers, Mitchie and Wayne, were eagerly awaiting the return of John so that their festivities could begin. To help them was Grandmom Mrs. Steimel of Chicago, (Bonnie's mother) and Grandmother Mrs. Albert Sabaj of Chicago (Mitch's Mom), the others present were Tony and Ralph Rodrequez and three children, Ray and Rosie Schoenfield, Dorothy and Donna Main, Nancy and A1 Sabaj, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Steimel and two boys, all of Chicago. Helen and Jack Green and daughter, Isabell and Tom Korebechli and five children of Bellwood, Adeline and Rich Hansen of Oaklawn. Terrace Tidings Visitors at the Connerty home this weekend were Mr. and Mrs. L. Novy, Cicero, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Novy and family and Mrs. Meyers, Cicero. In keeping with the season Jay and Jeff Connerty attended the Forester Halloween party. Brent and Brad Deppmeier and Mickey Jourdan attended the Halloween party given by their school friend, Peter Kasperski. Mary and Frank Jakubicek were Friday evening dinner and dancing guests at a Chicago hotel with Frank's brother, Tony, and wife, Marge, of St. Louis and other friends of Chicago. At the Gregg residence father is going pheasant hunting to West Branch, Iowa, this weekend. We sure will be delighted if he has a good catch. The Tom Merhaut home had weekend guests for a Halloween party which the two couples attended. Ron Lamberg and Linda Haiz had a delightful time with the gayly costumed Tom and Pat. The Weiss family had a very good week for being the best. Ed and Jackie Weiss took first place for the best dressed couple at a local Halloween party. Their son, Kenny Weiss, fought in the 147 lb. class of the C.Y.O. in Chicago and won the bout in the second round with a knockout. Congratulations Ken. At the Mierzwa home on Friday the children, Carolyn and Keith, called a meeting of their Friends' Club. Carolyn, being president, arrangedf/with the others all of the necessary games and refreshments. All the plans were made by Brent and Brad Deppmeier, Gail and Brent Dack, Dawn Hawkins, and Keith and Carolyn. On Wednesday Carolyn Mierzwa, Jimmy Phillips, Jim Vyduna and Pam Perrewe went to the theater in Crystal Lake with 90 other safety pa-> trol children from the Johnsburg school. Russ and Dorothy Parker attended the Halloween party at our local establishment where Ed and Jackie Weiss won their prize. Also attending the same party were the Mierzwas, the Deppmeiers and several other couples of the Terrace. Kathi Parker attended a young adults party at the home of Bill Erber. Guests at the home of Sherri Graizano were Terry and Kathi Mueller. Guests at the Benoche home, still wanting to help Jeannie Jo celebrate the honor of Homecoming Queen, attended Sunday dinner and a boat ride. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gerali and son. Pete, and Andy Stopar of Chicago and Joe Szalich of Berwyn. Mr. and Mrs. James Bush attended the homecoming festivities at Illinois State Normal University where Karen is a senior. Janice who attends the University of Illinois at Champaign joined the folks for the week. The most exciting of all events, the football game, was won by the home team. Visitors at the Toepper home this past week were Joyce's brother, Glenn Nelson, and family from Madison, Wis. The Toeppers and Nelsons spent a delightful time visiting the Brookfield Zoo. Cheryl Stahlman reports on the G.A.A. hockey game and tells us that the Juniors and Seniors played and the Juniors were victorious. Sick Friends Vern Mondl, the treasurer of the association, underwent surgery twice this past week at the Skokie Valley hospital. We send him our best wishes and wish him a speedy recovery. In the Zamastill household we have Betty with a cracked nose. Mom reports it was a clean fracture but has caused discoloration to Betty's eyes. We know Betty will be as chipper as can be in just a few days. Marty Pritchard was ill for a few days with some sort of cold. This sure took her off her pegs. We sure know she was appreciated when she was able to get out again. Birthdays Happy birthday and best wishes to Bob Froehling on Nov. 13. Karen Kurowski will be a big 10 on Nov. 13, we hope you have a wonderful day and that your every wish comes true. There was a business meeting and a program. The club voted to send a donation to the Arthritic and Rheumatism Foundation. Viola Mc- Nish gave a report on the Mc- Jourdan the very best wishes and hope her day will be filled with everything good. Anniversary Wishes Our anniversary couple this week are the one and only Birdie and Jim Deppmeier, Nov. 15. Best wishes for marital bliss. Henry County Federation meeting which she attended with Mrs. Beulah Karls and Mrs. Moravic. The program was given by Mrs. Clyde Parfrey. She read an interesting article entitled a "Wisconsin Badger meets a Russian Bear" written by Mrs. Lela Anrdews, a newspaper editor. Mrs. Andrews with a group of newspaper women, toured Russia for two weeks in 1956. Now retired, Mrs. Andrews was editor of Richland Center, Wis. "Observer". She is a sister of Clyde Parfrey. The club met ort Nov. 4 at the home of Mrs. Clyde Parfrey in Round Lake with Mrs. Harriet Olson as co-hostess. Twelve members were present to enjoy a social afternoon at cards. At the meeting it was Voted to send a donation to the "Light House for the Blind" in Chicago. PTA Meeting Members of the Spring Grove school PTA held a meeting at the school on Wednesday night. At this time a report on the penny carnival held on Halloween was given. The event was a huge success and the committee wishes to thank everyone who participated, those who helped in any way to make this party the success it was. A rummage sale and Christmas bazaar will be held in the school on Dec. 5, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Thursday night, Nov. 12, a public meeting will be held at the school to explain the referendum which is coming up for vote. Trips I had heard that Danny and Theresa Miller enjoyed a visit to the World's Fair, but just found out recently that they had won this trip. Danny and Theresa along with seven couples from Woodstock spent a week in October at the Worlds Fair and many other places of interest in New York City. This was an airplane trip and was an award from a department of the McHenry County Farm Bureau for the services. Mrs. Emma Kattner, Mrs. Margaret Weber and Mrs. Kathryn Johnson drove to Florrisant near St. Louis, Mo., to visit Mrs. Weber's daughter, Margie Hanie. They also spent some time in Springfield and visited Lincoln's Tomb, and stopped off in Belleville to see the shrine of "Our Lady of the Snows". Mr. and Mrs. William Shotliff spent a few days last week at Wisconsin Rapids visiting Mrs. Shotliff's sister, Mrs. Martha Pierce, and family. Clubs Members of her club were entertained at the home of Mrs. Arthur Klein in Fox Lake on Wednesday night. Following a dessert lunch, cards were played. Prizes went to Eva Freund, Tippy Klein and Fanny Prosser. The club will meet next at the home of Mrs. Norbert Klaus in Fox Lake on Monday, Nov. 16. Mrs. Frankie Shotliff entertained the 500 club on Thursday afternoon. Winners were Clara Deinlein, Tillie May, Mary Nimsgern, Prances Busci and Frankie Shotliff.
