Troop 459 There is no real news from Our Scout troop as they will be having their first meeting after a two week vacation tomorrow night. We've been asked® to remind all the people to mark down Jan. 30 as a date to attend their coming show at McHenry junior high school. Tickets are available from any Scout or leader. Congratulations " Department Belated birthday wishes go to Michael Krasucki who was 5 on Dec. 29 and belated anniversary wishes go to Joan and Dick Burmann who celebrated on Dec. 29. On Jan. 8 Joan Krater and Nancy Oik celebrate, Nancy will be sweet 16. The 9th ' has Leah and Walter Nuss sharing their Eleventh year of togetherness. Susy Hulbert will be 8 on the 10th and Gloria and Ken Vanek will be sharing their eighteenth year of wedded bliss. Mary Ellen Johnson adds another year on the 12th and the 13th has Les Eckart blowing out one more candle and Carol and Morrie Ketchurri will be happily married 14 years on the same date. Strolling Through The Park Herbie Dettmer celebrated his seventh birthday on Jan. 1 with his Godmother Mrs. James Milton coming from Mundelein and his Grandmother, Mrs. Mary La Magdeleine joining in with his family with a delicious dinner in his honor. On Saturday, January 2nd another party was enjoyed with his cousins, school chums and neighborhood friends joining in. Mr. and Mrs. Cy Kozy had as*.their New Year's Day dinner guests Bob and Jan Kozy and daughter Terri, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kozy from Palatine, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kozy and children, Kathy and Michael. On Sunday, Jan. 3, Bob, Jan and Terri Kozy went to Chicago to visit cousins, Hazel, Vi, Martha and Elvin Nelson, and Jan's mother, Helen Nelson, and to have a belated Christmas dinner. Dottie and Chuck Stockdale spent Christmas weekend in Cleveland,. Ohio, with Chuck's sister. On Christmas day, the Nusses' guests were Lee's sister, Geneva Trave^so, and her family. They' had a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimtmings. Cheryl returned with them to spend a week with her cousin, Carol Jean. Dee and Bill Frazie had as their New Year guests Dee's sister, Linda, and her husband, Jim and, son Tod, from Arcanam, Ohio. They stayed the weekend. The Humanns had a busy weekend spending. New Year's day with the O'Brians watching the many, many football games, and enjoying a delicious ham dinner on Saturday night with Phil "and Marge Johnson. Sunday, they went to Carole's mother's home for a belated Christmas party. Michael Krasucki celebrated his fifth birthday on Dec. 29 with his mom and dad and two sisters, Pam and Barbara, singing happy birthday Jto him. Then on Sunday, Jan. 3, his mother served a buffet dinner with his Grandma Krasucki, Mr. and Mrs. Felan, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Krasucki, and Mr. and Mrs. Schellhorn and daughter coming from Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Krasiicki from Carpentersville, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bradtke and three children,, from Roselle, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Green and four children from Arlington Heights. The Meurer family also had a very busy weekend starting with New Year's Eve when they had dinner guests to help bring in the New Year, then having Barb's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, and her sister and family, Jo and James Ellis, for dinner New Year's day. In the evening they enjoyed the hospitality of Bob^and Jessie Matthews along with the Kochs, the Georges, and the Johnsons and Max's brother, Bill, his wife, Shirley Koch. Christmas • at Shirley and Max Koch's home had Max's brother, Bill, his wife, Shirley, and their children as well as Tiny and Bill Brewer and their children as the Koch's guests for dinner and the day. €The Saiturday after Christmas read Max and Shirley as hostess and host to the mixed couples bowling league for "coffee and" following the leagues bowling. Heard the cake was quite a masterpiece complete with bowling ball and pins. , The holiday week for Rose and Ed Oswald was a very active one and also one of great What happened to the water ? concern. Rose's brother, Bert, frorti Evanston was hospitalized just two days before Dec. 25 with pneumonia so for the first time in all her years Rose was unable to get to her home for Christmas, instead they visited her brother in the hospital and had dinner with their youngest daughter in'Evanston. During the week frequent trips into the city were made for hospital visits. New Years was spent with their good friends, Barb and Joe Herman of Lake Marie, and on Sunday they visited with their newly married grandson, Dave DrUml, and his wife, Donna, and their son, Davey, who are residents of Wonder Lake and also Mary and Dave Born of- Prospect Heights. Been a real active two weeks for great grandparents. A phone call from" their Air Force son, Buddy, who is stationed in New Mexico made the Druml family's Christmas just a little bit more complete. Kay tells me that Bud is really up in the clouds now, he's flying and this is the thing he has always wanted. Carol and Ray Cynowa^were hostess and host to a Christmas party honoring Carol's folks Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gratze of Crystal Lake. Among the guests were Ray Cynowa, Sr., son, Chipper, Catherine and Larry Cynowa and Dale Gratze. Ray's folks wer£ Christmas morning breakfast guests and Carol's folks and her brother Dale were dinner guests. Among luncheon guests at LaVerne Hromec's during the holiday week were Penny Veenhuis and Carol Cynowa. Sharon Mester, Sue Grizley's niece, spent her school holiday with Sue, Matt and the Grizley children. They spent Christnias with Matt's grandmother, Mary, in the city. Phone calls to Sue's mom in California and to her sister in New Jersey made the day complete. Nedra, Les and Billy Eckhart spent the Monday after Christmas visiting with their good friend, grandma Eve in Delavan, Wis. Dec. 23 had the Kamp and Druml families going to Wonder Lake to help Bette and Eddie's mom, Kay and Bill's wonderful mother-in-law, Danny Dennis, Kevin, Ronnie and Cindy's terrific grandma celebrate her birthday. We'll never tell how many candles she blew out tho'. Heard there was another terrific birthday party held on Dec. 19 honoring Earl Dowell. Another Christmas Eve anniversary gathering took place at Mary and Jim Daurio's. Helping them remember their twentieth year .of wedded bliss were Kay and Ed Druml. On Saturday the Daurio family went into the city to visit with Mary's mother., Mary Cahill, and Jim's mother, Clara. Mary is giving Jim a belated Christmas gift, a badly needed pair of suspenders. That was one story I'll be a long time in forgetting. " L /Christmas day turkey dinner was served by Kitty and George Hendle to George's mother and sister and to Kitty's folks, Mr. and Mrs. J. Coffaro of Roselle. The two Hendle boys, Johnnie trnd Marty, were among the many, of our residents, who were quite ill. Glad their both back up to par now. Bette, Bill and the Kamp children spent Christmas with Bill's sister, Arlene, her husband, Ray, and the Guzzardo children; They also visited with Bette's folks in Wonder Lake and with her brother and his family as well as talking to Bill's folks who call Florida home now. The Osman home on Shore Drive was one of merriment on Christmas Day. Evelyn's .father, Mr. Burns, her brothers, Dave and Mike and Mike's girl Donna, brother, Bob, his children, Berry, Tommy, Susie, Terry and Jirrinciy, brother, Jack, his wife Nancy arid their son, Pat, sister, Eileen, and her children, Greg, Patty and Christy, all had a very wonderful day. Eileen and her children were also weekend guests. Dottie, Irv, Kathy, Kenny, Mary and Marge Becker joyed grandma and grandpa Becker, Irv's sister, Pat, her husband, George, his mother and their two children as dinner and day long guests on. Christmas day. New Year's eve they had the Drumls as, guests and on Sunday, Dottie's sisters, their husbands and children and her uncle, Rev. Nickolas Norman, were dinner and day long guests. Mary and Margie both were plagued by the flu bug during the holiday season. Mick Daurio spent the first few days of vacation with a badly bruised toe. Little Steve Wickenkamp wasn't up to par, Dennis Druml suffered from an ear infection, Alan Meurer had to have five sutures to close a dog bite on his cheek. Cindy Kamp was quite ill with an upper respiratory' infection. Janet Oeffling and Kimberly* Cynowa both had their tonsils removed. Bernice Donarski had been a hospital patient. To all of you we hope you're all back up to par. Jan. 3 saw many of Pat Faunt's friends and relatives dropping in to say goodbye to Pat, who left for Austin Peay College in Tennessee. His wife, April, and daughter, Suzanne, will remain in the Park until Pat is able to locate an apartment for them. Good luck, Pat, may all your grades be A plus. Gerry and Lloyd Wagner, Kay and Ed 'Druml, Sue and Matt Grizley spent a very enjoyable evening last Saturday. The evening was ended with an early breakfast with Gerry as a very masterful chef. The Sunday following Christmas had Barb and Ron Meureer sharing their wonderful hospitality with Joe and Agnes Prazak, Gloria and Ken Vanek, Kay and Ed Druml. Enjoying the evening very much Barb, also eating your chees^ makes mine last longer. It was] a wonderful gift from the Plain/ dealer we both received for Christmas. Doug Funk spent his vacation with his aunt, uncle and their children in Fox Lake. The Funk family attended the wedding of Sue's nephew on Saturday. New Years Eve had the Gladmans, Funks and Laursens all gathering at Gayle and Bob's. Our very best wishes are expended to Dennis Koszicki who entered the Army this week. Ivy and Stan Lezak had a dinner party for Helen, Gene and Mike Krasiewicz and Ann Herzog on last Tuesday. Dinner was delicious.
