Get Well Wishes Cheerful get-well wishes to Riclflfr' Audino who was hospitalized at McHenry. hospital last week. Greetings A happy bjrthday to the following young people from Holiday Hills, Candy Walters, a Valentine girl, will be 14 years old on the 14th, Susie While, 6 SwOAt-CtttS 9bk- OA/omen by Maggi* Probably the biggest problem with READY OR HAND MADE KNITS is the "baggy" 4ook in the seat. Even a lining can't keep the shape entirely.' The best- thing to do is Wear a taffeta- type slip. For your own knits, use the bottom part of the slip for your lining. Taffetas won't give in any way and control the "give" in the skirt. Next best lining is a drum-type of firm, lightweight silk. SMARTY-CUT: Close plasticfreezer bags, loaves of bread, etc.. tightly by twisting pipe years old on the 15th and John F3oettcher 6 years old on the 17th. Sorry that we missed Scott Lundelius who was 10 years old on Feb. 2. fcleaners around edge . . easier than rubber bands, won't tear apart like paper-cohered wire. Let's face it, gals - there's still lots of winterJeft.. Which means more wear for GALOSHES AND BOOTS. (If they're sticking together or getting just too run-down looking, get a new pair- most stores have sales now.) When they need, it, sponge off boots with soapsuds and a brush. If they are rubber, don't use cleaning fluid, tar, oil or grease or they will be ruined. Some overshoes, like the clear plastics, can "be scrubbed in a washtub. Stuff with newspaper or rags to keep sides from sticking and let dry. If the kids' feet are growing too large for the boots, have them wear sneakers instead of hard shoes under them. . N A R R O W - N E C K V A S E S don't have to be a pain to clean. If the bottle brush is too big, drop crushed eggshells into vase. Add a little water and shake until film, and dirt disappear; Rinse. Kids. Dads; guests, everyone will love you for making real, rich. FRENCH HOT CHOCOLATE. Blend -46 cup- semir Weet chocolate with Va cup white corn syrup and V* cup water over low heat. When chocolate melts, pour into cup and refrigerate till cooled. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat 1 ptr heavy cream in mixer at medium speed, gradually adding chocolate syrup. Continue beating until mixture just rhounds. Refrigerate. Scald 2 qt. milk. To serve, spoon some of the chocolate whipped cream into cup, then fill with hot milk. /Stir before sipping, (serves 16) (Watch for Maggie every week!) Unless everyone joins in together, determined to make this performance on life's stage the best one possible, the result will always be sour and discordant. Perhaps, when we take an honest look at ourselves, we discover such things as temper or prejudice, jealousy or despair standing in the way of our personal happiness. And when we are unhappy, we feel out of tune with the world. • How can these miseries be overcome? God Himself will help us, if we ask Him. It is His intention that His children live in harmony and contentment, and He will show us the way. Bring your problem to church this Sunday, and offer it to Him in prayer. He loves you greatly, He understands you perfectly, and only He can help you to regain the song of joy that belongs in your heart. Copyright 1965 Krister Advertising Service, Inc.. Straaburg, Va.
