Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hettermann have returned from an enjoyable vacation. They left by astro-jet from O'Hare Field, March 6, enjoying astro vision in flight. They were accompanie$° by their daughter, Therfesa, an air reservist, arriving in San Francisco where they visited the Golden Gate Bridge, the Park and Chinatown. From th^re they motored to Los Angeles where stops were made at Disneyland, J$iott's Berry Farm, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. They then boarded a plane for San Diego where they saw Fort Point Lonna,, the Naval Base, the Immaculata Cathedral and the battle ship Columbus. While there they were also over niyht guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Whitcomb, former residents of this vicinity, after which they returned to Los Angeles where they took a plane for New York, for a brief stay, enjoying 21 cub service enroute, returning to O'Hare on March 17. Mrs. Clara Wallin accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Nick Adams, of Elk Grove Village, to Chicago, Monday where they attended the World Flower and Garden Show at McCormick Plage. » The George E. They made their headquarters near Clearwater and took many side trips while there. They hrctd the pleasure of having former McHenryites, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dowell and family of Lafayette, Ind., as their neighbors during tfce holidays. ••After leaving Clearwater they rrfade a trip to The Keys to visit Mrs. Budler's sister and husbftnd, the Gus Freunds, who v^ere spending six weeks there. They then motored up the east coast to call on the Math Laureses at West Palm Beach, the Joseph Muskas at Chuluota, fiends at Daytona Beach and tbe Feireisels and William Tonyans at Tarpon Springs. Enrpute home they visited relatives in Montgomery, Ala., and Cblumbus, Ohio. Richard Phannenstill is home from Western College in Macomb for an eleven day vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Phannenstill. Joan Adams was home from Chicago for a weekend visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfons Adams. . Banker of 5000 South Cornell, Chicago', formerly of McHenry has been elected president of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Phi Omega at Arkansas College. Banker is a sophomore speech major and plans a career of teaching. McHenry Hospital Auxiliary News Mrs. William Jordan of McHenry, chairman of the Pink Lady Sewing Guild, reports that Mrs. Maxine Voss was welcomed as a new member at the last meeting. The members, currently eighteen in number, have been making children's aprons, which have been a popular item in the Pink Lady Shoppe. Future plans include a "Dutch treat" luncheon at the April meeting and a birthday party at the May meetihg. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the homes of members. Plans and'ldeas are discussed and.,the actual work is done at the convenience of each member. This busy group also staffs the Pink Lady Shopped on Mondays. Mrs. Jordan stresses that the guild is always'ppen new ideas, and new members.
