Notes From the Village Board With the worst winter, on record about over j(we surely hope), necessary road repairs will be made as soon as possible, according to commissioner Art Stuhlfeier. He made his report at the last meeting of the board, held Thursday, March 22. Trustees William Creutz and Art Nelson were absent. Ordiance 63 pertaining to remuneration for village officers was approved with no dissenting votes. .Before the vote President Levesque asked the trustees to consider a higher scale for the office of president which will take effect after our local election. Mr. Levesque has served for 10" years on a dollar a year basis. Remuneration for trustees l>egan with the newly elected officials in 1963. The new rate stands as follows: Ten dollars for each meeting attended for the president, five dollars for meetings attended for each trustee, one hundred fifty dollars per year for the village clerk, and one hundred twenty-five dollars per annum for the village treasurer.- ' «• Dogs on the prowl came in for more condemnation when Chief Earl Murray exclaimed he spent 3 hours and 45 minutes one Saturday, pursuing them. Surgery Almost Fatal For Family Pet What should havd been a routine operation for Abby -a beautiful Dalmation, owned by Diana and Chase Koch almost took her life recently. The operation was performed by a county vet and she apparently suffered a reaction from a shot. She slipped into a deep coma with only 4 heart palpitations per minute. The vet kept the family informed during the entire crucial procedure. He even cancelled a dinner appointment to remain with the dog. The vet called a consultation with a regular medical doctor who recommended using a high powered rare drug which comes from England. It is used only as a last resort. She managed five plane rides in seven days, but it was worth it, to be able to spend time with her sons. First stop after leaving O'- Hare airport was Glynco, Ga., \Vhere son Bob is stationed. She stayed at a resort on Jekyll Island, located on the Atlantic Ocean and was able to visit with Bob for three days. On Wednesday, she flew to Louisville, Ky., for visits with son, Glenn, stationed at Fort Knox.
