According to the by-laws which were read and approved, the April meeting will be the annual meeting at which elections shall take place. It is felt by the present officers wha were assembled by a rather irregular process to direct the; club until an orderly election could be held after by-laws ha<^ been drawn up, that the first regular election of officers should take place at this next meeting, which will be held April 28 at the home of Gene Gerke. The by-laws will be officially adopted at that meeting also. Be sure to be there. Easter Events The next event to be sponsored by the Lucky Ladies will be the Easter egg hunt and drawing contest. Instead of coloring a picture of an Easter bunny, this year each child may submit his own interpretation of that grand old rabbit. The drawing may be done in any medium on a 9x12" paper of any sort. The contest will be judged in age groups, of course: (4 years and under, 5-7, 8-10. and 11 years and up) by a panel of impartial judges, i.e., residents who have no small children. NOTE: do not put your name on your drawing. Only your age. When you deliver your drawing to the Stephens home at 2005 Indian Ridge, your paper will be assigned a number, which will be entered along with your hame on the entry long sheet, so there will be no identification on the drawings themselves. Prizes will be awarded to one boy and one girl in each age group. All entries must be received on April 15. The Easter egg hunt will be held on Holy Satui'day, April 17, at 1 p.m., in the picnic area on the south side of Grandview Drive (opposite 1814 Grandview). All children of the Estates through age twelve may participate in the hunt: Bring your own bags or baskets. The eggs will be colored and supplied by the members of the LLC and anyone else who wishes to do so. All eggs should be delivered to the Simmons residence at 1802 W. Grandview by April 16. ROAD CONDITIONS DISCUSSED DURING ASSOCIATION MEET The Board of Directors of the Holiday Hills Property Owners Association met at the ranchhouse on Wednesday evening, March 31. The most important business at hand was, of course, the roads. Everyone living here is aware of the problem we have. If you live, aijy distance into the subdivision, you hold your breath and keep your fingers crossed that you make it home without losing your car on the way. The board went to work making calls the night of the meeting and had truckloads of gravel and a grader out working the very next morning. With ground conditions as they are at present, we cannot engage in any extensive road repairs, but without the measures taken last week, we wouldn't even be using our roads how. Just how much can be done when the weather permits depends largely on the cooperation of the home owners. These repairs are costly. If you have forgotten your dues this year, won't you pay them now? If yofl've never paid dues before, isn't it worth the nominal fee to have the roads in repair and the snow plowed? Earline received word late last Thursday night that her mother succumbed to a heart- attack in East St. Louis while-either visiting or attending a meeting there. Grace Dickerson, age 69, leaves her husband, Jess, two daughters, Earline Mettelka of Holiday Hills and- Geneva Bieber of Dupo and one son,Vernon, of Flint, Mich, and'seven grandchildren, two of whom are from Holiday Hills, Raymond and Rita Ann. Woman's Club Gals, don't forget the Holiday Hills Woman's Club meeting is next Wednesday, April 14.
