Co-sponsors of the project are the Governor, Superintendent of Public Instruction Ray Page and the Illinois School Problems Commission. Supt. Page will serve as honorary chairman and Rep. "Increasingly, education has become the key to the working world and to society as a whole ; the bigger the key, the bigger the door it opens. The state must respond to this by equalizing education, by providing learning opportunities for the children of the poor which are as good as for the children of the rich, for the rural child as for the urban one."
