He is presently doing graduate work at Emory University, Atlanta, Ga. A September 4 wedding is planned. WOMAN'S CLUB Newly elected officers of the McHenry Woman's Club were installed Wednesday, May 12, at noon at the annual spring luncheon at the McHenry Country Club. Mrs. Hugh Locker officially take office as president; Mrs. Donald Gerlitz, first vicepresident; Mrs. Frank Gans. second vice-president; Mrs. Carl Rietesel, recording secretary; and Mrs. Harold Padgitt, treasurer. Horenbergers Name New Daughter The second daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Horenberger, Jr., has been named Rae Ann Louise. The little miss was born April 30 at McHenry hospital and weighed 5 libs., 11 ozs. She lias two brothers, Mark 9, and Timothy, 3, and a sister, Susan, 6. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Horenberger, Sr., of Mason Hill road, McHenry. Sewing (Juild Met At Country Club At the monthly meeting of the Sewing Guild to McHenry hospital fifteen members and two guests were present |o enjov a salad luncheon at the McIIenry Country club last Thursday. The birthdays of four members, Marian Carlson, Lilah Jordan, Mildred Kennedy and Tillie Ahrens, were celebrated. Following the luncheon a business meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Walter Carlson. Besides the honored celebrants, members present wer,e Ruth Young, Helen Lundigan, Mae Siadek, Margaret Moreth, Isa Braenne, Celia Blake, Dorothy Olson, Margaret Bolin, Tess Kelly, Helen Pepping and Esther Knapp. Mrs. Lillian Breading of Michigan and Eva Bacon Sparks werg guests. Shower Honors Miss Pat Hamil Miss Pat Hamil was guest of honor at a personal shower given recently by Mrs. David Zank, who will be matron of honor at her wedding. About eighteen were present to enjoy the social hour. A buffet luncheon was served from a table which had a centerpiece of a bride and groom. Miss Hamil will be married May 29 at St. Mary's Catholic church to Thomas Bitterman. Margaret Mullen Engaged To Marry Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mullen, Sr., announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Theresa, to Robert Nordmeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nordmeyer of Twin Lakes, Wis. Rescue Squad for their promptness, courtesy and kindness in our recent need. God bless them. Kate and George Duesler 5-13-65 PLEDGED TO FRATERNITY Miss Chrys Levesque, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Levesque of McCullom Lake, was initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta fraternity, MacMurray chapter. This is a national freshman women's honor fraternity and students qualify by holding an average of 3.5 on a 4.0 grading system for the first semester. On Saturday, May 15, four young college age girls will arrive in the McHenry area to begin" two weeks of work for the Chain O'Lakes Evangelical Covenant. Church of this area. These four young ladies have given a year of their lives to labor for their God in local churches throughout the midwest area. They have postponed their college and plans for the future so that they could give themselves in this missionary service. These girls have worked in many churches throughout the past. year. They come to the McHenry area church to help in a calling program. The subdivisions surrounding the church property north of Johnsburg on the Wilmot Road will be canvassed. They will spend their days calling in these areas to introduce the church to the community. They will be leaving material that will help neighbors to become better acquainted with the church and its program. Rev. Robert E. Hirsch, pastor of the church, says, "We look forward to the work of these girls as a valuable asset to our church program." We are trusti: g that they will be welcomed by the folk they meet. We pray that as they go forth to acquaint the neighbors with our church, many will respond to an invitation to come and visit, with us. These girls are working In the Covenant Youth Caravan Program. Karen Aust comes from Minneapolis and has one year of college. Janice Carlson from Batavia, 111., has been doing secretarial work and left her job to enter this program. Margery Kisby is from Clifton, Kas., and will return to college after this year. Anna Yurs is from Belvidere, 111., and is a nurse. Each of these girls has a deep sense of dedication to God and has been willing to give of herself and her talents for the small amount of $5 a week. The girls will be presenting a special, program at the regular Sunday afternoon Vesper Service on Sunday, May 16, at 5 p.m. This will give the congregation an opportunity to become acquainted with them. All members of the church are urged to share in this special service. They are talented musically and will present the whole service. Fellowship hour will follow the service. Rev. Harold Knappe officiated- at the 6. p.m. nuptial rite. Miss Johnson was radiant in an ivory silk organza dress styled with empire waist, AHne skirt with attached train, and a bodice of alencon lace featuring long sleeves. On her head she wore an alencon lace mantilla. Miss JMancy Carlson of-Chicago acted as maid of honor ancl Miss Kathleen Johnson of Northbrook was bridesmaid. They wore floor length dresses in maize silk oifganza, styled with empire waistlines. Their crescent-shaped bouquets were of cymbidium orchids. Glenn Bergman of Park Ridge, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer. Dr. William Kohl of McHenry served as best man and groomsmen were Donald Bergman of Park Ridge and Dr. Leslie Krieger, Jr., of McHenry. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Johnson selected a floor length dress of blue silk organza. Mrs. Ort wore a floor length dress of pink organza. Following the ceremony, 100 guests enjoyed dinner at the McHenry Country Club. Later, the newly weds left for Washington, D. C., on their wedding trip. They will return to take up housekeeping in Worthmore Estates. Miss Johnson is a graduate of Lutheran General and Deaconess School of Nursing, Park Ridge. She has been acting as head nurse at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Dr. Ort is a graduate of the Northwestern University Dental School and is a practicing dentist, in McHenry. SELECTED FOR HONORS Kenneth Earl Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nelson, 2720 N. Orchard Drive, McCullom Lake, will be honored by Southern Illinois University tonight at the Scholastic Honors Day convention. The ceremony will be held at Shyrock auditorium in recognition of high scholarship. A reception for honors students, their parents and the university faculty will follow in the Roman Room of the University Center. Mr. Nelson is a second year student taking a pre-med course. Try Nye Drug and see. 5-13-65 SPRING GROVE GIRL MARRIED LAST SATURDAY A wedding of local interest took place last Saturday, May 5, in" Spring Grove, when Miss Geraldine Sheets, of 1714 Main Street, Spring Grove, became the bride of Mr. David Wuttke, son of Mr. and Mrs. ^Reynold Wuttke of Genoa City, Wis. Rev. Fr. Meyer officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial ceremony performed in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Spring Grove. The church waf decorated with bouquets of white carnations and gladioli. Miss Sheets approached the altar, lovely in a floor length gown of chantilly lace, with fitted bodice modified sweetheart neckline and elbow lengt^, arched sleeves. The full, bell skirt featured a chapel length train and the pearlized crown held in place an imported, illusion, bouffant veil. Mrs. Judy Riedel of Fox Lake acted as matron of honor and bridesmaids were ^Miss Karen Sheets of Spring Grove, sister of the bride, Miss Helen Hohn of Richmond and . Miss Germaine Diedrich of Chicago, friends. They wore acqua crepe, floor length sheath gowns with back panels featuring satin bow streamers which accented the empire waistlines. Their headpieces were open ring pillboxes to match the dress, with blusher veils. They carried while carnations and white daisies with yellow centers in round bouquets. Little Cathy Smith, of Dyer, Ind., niece of the bride, was attired in an aqua crepe, floor length dress. Later, 250 friends and relatives gathered at the Richmond Legion hall for reception. The newlyweds are enjoying a trip to the Smoky Mountains and throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Upon their return they will "reside in Genoa City. The bride graduated from Richmond Burton high school in 1962 and is employed by the Western Insurance Company in Crystal Lake. The groom graduated from Lake Geneva high school in 19.58. He is a tool and die employee for a Delavan plant. ATTEND DEDICATION Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nischan, accompanied by their daughter Sister Florence Mary, of Holy R"deemer, Evergreen Park, attended the dedication, of the Postulate-Juniorate building, St. Mary's Notre Dame, Ind., last Saturday. Weingart Road, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Richard Huemann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huemann of 2411 W. Johnsburg Road, McHenry, in a beautiful nuptial rite solemnized in St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johrtsburg. last Saturday, May 8. Rev. John Dording officiated at the wedding, performed in a church decorated with pink and white carnations on the altar. Pretty Miss Weingart chose a peau de soie dress with alencon lace decorating a full skirt. It was styled with bodice of alencon lace enhanced with sequins and pearls, long sleeves of lace and a bustle in back, with long train. The scalloped neckline was also of lace. Miss Weingart had a wreath of sequins and pearls for her headpiece, to which was attached a three-tier veil, and she carried a bouquet of two orchids, stephanotis and ivy. Marilyn Smith of 3807 N. Spring Grove Road. McHenry, acted as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mary Jo Weingart and Karen Huemann, both of McHenry and Mrs. Carol Kephart of Champaign. The pretty flower girl was Sharon Pitzen of Round Lake. All of the adult attendants were attired in silk organza sheaths in light pink, with chiffon panel attached by a bow in back from the empire waistline. Their headpieces were pink bows and veils. Sharon's attire was the same except for short cap sleeves. She carried a basket of dark and light pink rose petals. Joseph Hettermann of Chapel Hill Road, McHenry, served as best man and Ken Hettermann of Richmond, Tim Marshall of Fairview Drive, McHenry. and Ira Kephart of Champaign were groomsmen. Ushers were Bill Huemann and John Reinboldt of McHenry. The ring bearer was young Billy Huemann of Eastwood Manor. Mrs. Weingart was attired in In addressing more than 250 members of the 12th district Republican women's club at the Waukegan Inn, Congressman Robert McClory praised the Republican women for the significant part they play, in behalf of the Republican party and of the nation. Congressman McClory declared in part: "Just as the women of America provided the margin of victory in the successful republican campaigns of 1952 and 1956, so also" do the women of America represent the hope for Republican victories in 1966 and 1968." Congressman McClory discussed the basic principles which distinguish the Republican party. He criticized the great society's programs of federal aid to education, Appalachia and the political maneuverings taking place in the administration's poverty program. GARDEN CLUBS TO HOLD SPRING MEETING MAY 16 The Men's Garden Club of Woodstock will be host to members of the men's garden clubs from throughout northern Illinois on Sunday, May 16, at the annual spring meeting to be held at the Timbers in Woodstock at noon. Guest speaker will be Floyd Swink, naturalist at the Morton Arburetum, near Lisle, who will lecture on "Wild Flowers." an ivory sheath of crepe and lace, with which she wore mint green accessories. Mrs. Huemann wore a three-piece light blue knit suit with matching accessories. A reception for 500 guests was held at the Johnsburg Community Club hall. Later, the couple left on a wedding trip to LasVegas and Denver, Colo. They will make tK6!l£ home at 1121 River Terrace Drive, Pistakee Bay. The bride is a 1962 graduate of McHenry high school and the year following from the Muel* ler Beauty School of Waukegan.
