Monmouth, New Jersey, was having a stop-over in Chicago between trams, enroute to Korea. Mrs. David Rosenkrans of Berwyn was a weekend guest of Mrs. George B. Kane. Messrs and Mesdames Phillip Thennes, John Thennes, Edward Thennes and Leonard Thennes were visitors in Saukyille, Wis., Friday night, where ty attended the wake of a relative, Gene Kessler. Mrs. Alice Anderson, Mrs. Lillian Ehlert and Mrs. Mary Brey were recent luncheon guests of Mrs. Fred j. Schoewer. Edward Dwyer of Chicago spent the Memorial holidays with his sister, Mrs. Walter Walsh. The Hubert Smith family moved recently from 3907 W. John street to the Lennon place at 1402 N. Green street, vacated by the Ray Blades family who purchased a home at Round Lake. The place the Smiths have vacated is being tenanted by the Robert Kins family who moved from Cooney Heights. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schmitt, son, Charles, and daughter of Chicago were recent visitors in the home of Mrs. George B. Kane. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Harris have returned to their home in Miami, Fla., after a visit with her mother, Mis. John Vycital, and other relatives here. The Louis Gerding family of Giandorf, Ohio, were weekend guests in the home of her par' ents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Blake. Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Schoewer, Mrs. Alpha Pedersen and Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson attended a card party given by the Woman's Benefit Association, in Waukegan, last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dohm of Chicago and Mrs. Michelson of Park Ridge were dinner guests of Mrs. A. M. Dohm Saturday evening. Charles Vycital motored to St. Paul, Wednesday to pick up his son, Gary, a student at the College of St. Thomas, who returned with him for his sum mer vacation. Mrs. George Reichow of Chi cago spent a few days the past week in the Robert Thompson home. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lawrence of Chicago*were Memorial weekend guests in the Donald Givens home. Miss Joan Adams was home from Chicago for a weekend visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfons Adams. Leo Heimer returned Tuesday from Indianapolis where he spent a few days in the home of his nephew, John Hoffman, and attended the races. Rose, Richard and Arnold Heil of Marathon, Wis., were weekend guests in the Stanley Diedrich home where they attended a gathering, Saturday evening, honoring their cousin, Andrew Diedrich, who graduated from Marian Central on Sunday. A get-together of the William Wissell family was held at the Robert Wissell home south of McHenry on Sunday. A committee for the bake sale has been appointed and there was a discussion regarding the forthcoming county fair. It was announced that the skit which was presented on Share The Fun night placed fourth, and all members participating received a blue ribbon. We were all very happy with the recognition and we all certainly appreciated the efforts of both Mrs. Cristy and Mrs. Sullivan. Two talks and one demionstration were given. June 7 is the date of our next meeting, so mark your calendar, WINS SUIT Alvin Phannenstill of McHenry was found innocent of charges in a personal injury suit brought in Circuit Court last week by Bernard Matchen, also of McHenry. The suit was filed in the amount of $25,000 against Michael Sands, whose address is unknown, operator of a truck which allegedly struck Matchen on Rt. 120 in 1962, causing injuries. Matchen also asked $20,000 from Phannenstill, doing business as Sportsman's Inn, on a charge that intoxicating liquor was sold or given to Sands in the tavern prior to the accident.
